I love this! Looks like a black and white pic except for the little splash of orange wingbling :) Oh and the yellowish beak, also ;)

It looks like the cold weather has affected the Blackwater cam. Doesn't look like it has updated in an hour and a half or so. I was beginning to think the bird was frozen - and I'm not even :bld:

Harpo
- tell ES that he needs to be careful with that snowblower. I saw an article online earlier today telling of the frequency of hand injuires related to using snowblowers. One of you is enough!

EXCITING NEWS!!!. A surprise egg was laid at the Saanich nest today!

Egg Laid At Saanich

It's early this year - the last couple of years it hasn't been until late March that they've laid. :><:

Today was a busy day for the eagles! Not so much for me, though. I didn't really get anything done, except when I transferred photos from my camera to a blank dvd. My computer crashed a few months ago and we lost everything (including a few years worth of pictures.) They were my dad's, and now I ahve a camera, and I want to keep all my photos safe. :D

It's also snowing preety hard here. We're suppsoed to get around 8 inches or so tonight and a few mroe tommorow, for a total of above a foot! I really don't feel like going to school tommorow. I'm very tired.

Finally!!! an immature Bald Eagle :soar: :><: <3 Went to Cachuma today with Sara, Kathie and Vicki... it was an absolutely beautiful day, had to take coats and jackets off on the boat...saw GH owl and Osprey as well as deer, red-tailed hawks and lots of shore-type birds...very happy as I missed the eagle the last time I went....only saw the eagle for a short flight near our boat and then he/she was gone! :soar: :soar: :soar:

Wow, awesome pictures linda! I would love to see birds like that around here. Once I saw a red tailed hawk sitting in a tree above my driveway. That was nice.
