Personally, In going thru some of the oodles of old photos ive shot over the years it is rather rewarding to see how our photo skills have improved over time. In hindsight i am often asking myself "Why did i take this shot?" Or a shot that i really liked years ago and thought it to be one of my best makes me think years later "geez that shot really is crappy, why did i even keep this monstrosity"

Tell me about it George - I've had the 40D 4 days now and I'm already wishing I could go back and reshoot all of the eagle photos I took travelling last year with the DLSR instead of the P&S rofl

Just want to let you know that tomorrow is the day dh is having his prostate removed. Thoughts, prayers and candles will all be appreciated. I will check in tomorrow night and let you know how it goes. The doctor will let me know right after surgery whether or not there is a visible indication of cancer spreading beyond the prostate. With the information he has to this point, he thinks it is unlikely, but possible.

I so appreciate all the love and support I have found in this forum.

:X: :X: :X: Best wishes to your hubby for a speedy recovery! I am sure theyll find no spread of it and likely will know before hes even out of the recovery room just what type of cell the C was and thus the probiblity of how likely it would have been to spread if they hadnt removed it. :X: :X: :X:

Linda, your pics are incredible. :><: On your viewfinder, they were just spectacular. Posting them, WOW! My eagle pics are specks. I've got to invest in a camera like yours, or Kathie and Sara's. I better start saving now! It was so exciting watching you shoot those incredible shots, knowing they would be gorgeous! The owl in the nest, is incredible. We laughed saying she looked like Batman. rofl Thank you for posting them so quickly. :)^ And thank you, Linda, Sara and Kathie for a fabulous day of eagles, wildlife, friends and a great lunch too! :Yum:

What? you mean your not already wanting to run right out and spend $7000 for the canon 1d Mk III body???? rofl

I seem to always regret not shelling out more money for the next model up the line after i just buy a new camera. I was regretting not having bought the canon d300 within a few days of getting the d90 a

There are always shots we have taken that we wish we could reshoot or shoot with better fancier gear. That is common with Cameraholics. It is a symptom of the disease but not fatal at least rofl

Great shots of the juvie eagle!

Love the osprey shots too! There is something i just like about the colors of the osprey's feathers. Theyre wonderfull to see in flight too :clk:

Well as its now 1030 here in the east with the :flk: :flk: :flk: falling steadily , i am going to call it a night. I hope any of my fellow easties will not have to drive tomorrow on their way to work. The School district of philadelphia and the Arch Diosesan Schools in Philly have already closed for tommorrow. Meanwhile in the town where i live the local school district has said nothing and likely wont until dawn when roads have been clogged for hours.

Radio report here says PennDOT already has their fleet of 500 trucks out already salting and spraying a brine solution down to prevent roads from icing up.

NYTOL!!! :}^

:Zz: :Zz: :Zz: (dreaming about waking up in Maui or the carribean tomorrow morning) rofl

Well, my take on my pictures today is that I did better with the 200mm lens last year... I had so much more blur with the 300...always hard on a boat that is moving.. no way for tripod... still, I loved being with so many different birds today... one of the guys on the boat had the HUGE lens.. he was a forum member on Birdphotography.net... I have already signed up and am looking forward to getting more familiar with it.. You can post your bird pics and they critique for you and give advice.. also a section on equipment especially for bird photography... it is a worldwide forum so could be fun...

I love LaLa's and Vicki's pictures of our time at the lake today. Peppermint, Melissa said the juvies were migratory and would be leaving any day now. Only the nesting adults remain full time. Missed you today.

Here are mine.

Hmm i am gonna have to take a, pardon the pun, gander at that site.

Well the lack of sharpness is also caused perhaps too when shooting wide open where the depth of field is narrower and also narrower due to the extra 100mm of focal length. Again this is one reason to use the 1/focal length rule when shooting if at all possible to help minimize blurr from even the slightest vibration or moveemnt of the lens or camera. Alas when i am trying for this myself, unless the sunlight is just right or unless i have the iso set high i normally end up shooting with the lens wide open. I wish I could shoot at f8 or 11 with every shot to get the best sharpness from the lens i am using but ...thats living in a photo fantasy world
