Mother Nature is so wonderful and gives birds instincts and ways to deal with all sorts of weather.

Carole I was
when I took this image off the Blackwater cam when it was frozen last night.... so it was so gratifying to see them bringing food to the nest and feeding the hatchling today For comparison here is a short video of a Norwegian Sea Eagle nest from March 25th last year. Look how deep that snow is !!! There are a few others on that site...snow seems to be gone by April. http://www.smp.no/section/VIDEO/1225&id=31 ![]() Click image for information on the eagles and this nest For the link to the camera click on the smaller version of this image |

Artsy Mom...Your comment on K26 and the big egg that she laid got me to thnking...What happens when an eagle lays a double yolk egg? I know it happens quite frequently with chickens so is it a common occurance with eagles...maybe it isn't. Say it is a double yolk and it is fertilized, would there be two baby eagles or only one? Would it be an impossibility due to the fact that two chicks could not survive inside the space provided inside the egg shell? Maybe it is a question for Dr. Sharpe. Chiquita |

Oh how sad, Paul Harvey passed away over the weekend. I love listening to "The Rest of the Story" every morning.
