Penny - I got up in the middle of the night to check the Blackwater cam, I just couldn't sleep. I kept telling myself, think about the eagles in Alaska and even where Glo lives, The Quad City Area, all you see is snow in winter. The eagles are very well insulated with all their feathers and do an awesome job trying to keep the eggs and chicks warm and dry. So far, Blackwater parents have been amazing, even catching fish and feeding the ^"^ . I am going to keep a very positive attitude :X: :X: and all will turn out well. <3

Thank you for the warm welcome back. The last six months have been very stressful. I'm looking forward to sitting back and relaxing a bit and watching the eagles. :^:

I bought a kayak this weekend so I can get back out there and check on the eagle pair by the marina. I sure hope they have eaglets this year!

Well, gotta get back to work.

See you all later! :}^

Is it :rn: ing in them thar hills yet? Just made it back from the Park and it is coming down in big splats here right now. I'll take it any day over that heavy :flk: fall.

DS said they haven't had any snow in Montreal from that storm so they are pretty lucky. :)^

Artsy Mom...Your comment on K26 and the big egg that she laid got me to thnking...What happens when an eagle lays a double yolk egg?  I know it happens quite frequently with chickens so is it a common occurance with eagles...maybe it isn't.  Say it is a double yolk and it is fertilized, would there be two baby eagles or only one?  Would it be an impossibility due to the fact that two chicks could not survive inside the space provided inside the egg shell?  Maybe it is a question for Dr. Sharpe.

Chiquita

It doesn't seem like it could be possible Chiquita. Remember last year when B-)) had to carefully separate the membrane from one of the chicks where it was stuck to the shell to help it hatch?

Maybe one of the embryos would be resorbed into the albumen  Please ask Peter so we will all know the answer to that one :ok:

This rainbow is from 20 minutes ago.. lasted five minutes and now it is dark and gray outside....

I love the colors in your photo Linda!

And great photos from the Cachuma 4 yesterday! I was out of town since Fri. & only got caught up on yesterday's chat today. Caught a cold/sore throat this weekend so left work early today to sit in my sweats with a blanket & my laptop!

Praying for your DH Linda (Lmorton) & Trish's mom.
