Blackwater

Look at the sleeping chick next to the egg that's starting to hatch. Notice the hole in the egg. That chick is so cute!

Penny, I have never seen anything like that cat.. what a video...I'll take Scout anytime also.. but it did look like a sweet kittie...

Since the reporter did say that two of the kittens in his litter were like this, maybe one of the parents was a hairless cat???? I would just shave off the rest of the lions mane and call him one of those. I don't think he deserves his 'ugly boy' moniker either

It's going to take me a while to get caught up here but I have read and was enthralled by the eagle story you posted, Penny! ' “I like to think Patty is out there still with her 'older man' having a wonderful life,” Gibson concluded.' Me too.... :D

My sister asked me last night if I'd ever heard about a photo of an eagle picking up a fox. I hadn't so went out to see if I could find it this afternoon. If you all have seen this before, forgive me but I though it was truly amazing! The link to the whole series of photos shows that the fox does get away in the end - seemingly none the worse for wear...

The sleepy chick picture was from the Blackwater cam web-site. I can't wait to see all the pics when they update their picture gallery. :D

Artsy Mom...Your comment on K26 and the big egg that she laid got me to thnking...What happens when an eagle lays a double yolk egg? I know it happens quite frequently with chickens so is it a common occurance with eagles...maybe it isn't. Say it is a double yolk and it is fertilized, would there be two baby eagles or only one? Would it be an impossibility due to the fact that two chicks could not survive inside the space provided inside the egg shell? Maybe it is a question for Dr. Sharpe.

Chiquita

I was going to post the same question! Am really curious about this.
