I've been to Baden-Baden. Lovely town! It's a town where a lot of people are being sent for Kur-Urlaub. I don't think there is an english word for it. Basically it's a place (there are many throughout Germany) where one get's sent to by the Health Insurance to recuperate for example after a heart attack, operation or other sickness. After my mom had her rotator cuff surgery, she was sent to a place like that for 4 weeks. They do physical therapy, mud baths, swimming therapy, massages and you name it. And insurance pays for it.
My mom said it's getting harder to be sent to those places now, as everyone is cutting back (health insurance included)

Edit: Whenever you see a Bad- or Baden- in the towns name, that is a good indicator that this town has places like that.

George is in change of taking all of the pictures tomorrow. Being tall he can get a better shot.

I have the "grab n go" bag all packed and ready! :clk: Have the flash unit and bracket with fresh batteries, the short zoom and the 2x for the fun of american hockey league game at 7pm.

Just took a rough estimation of the travel time from my front door to where cricket and i meet up. I estimate it will take me roughly 40minutes. (in a Nelson Eddie Voice) <::: ..."tramp tramp tramp along the highways, tramp tramp tramp along....."

Movie trivia too, his female costar Janette McDonald was from philadelphia and was one of three sisters. If memory serves me one was a dance teacher in the philly burbs years ago. Her other sister also had a role on tv as Grandmama on the gem of a show "The Addams Family" under the name credited as "Blossom Rock"

Jillers, I'm glad you could translate that eagle-speak. I couldn't spell it right to get it into the same translator that I used for Bea's post.

Wouldn't that be a trip? If there weren't those seat belt laws now . . .

When I was a teenager, we did just that. We would have people sitting on each other's laps in cars. We all had to be in one car. Or it might have been that there was only one of us who could get a parent's car, so we all had to fit in one car! rofl

Hmm sounds alot like the good ole days at the drive in theaters. Where you shoved as many friends in the trunk before you pulled in. I think then they charged per person like the regular movie houses but finally got wise and charged by the car

my grandmother's family is from Germany! I've only been to Munich and it was in and out - flew there cause the World Cup was in Italy at the time and I couldn't get anywhere near there - ES was studying in Italy and at the end I flew over and we did a 10 day whirlwind tour - sleeping on the trains and train station floors! did Munich - Innsbruck -on to Venice and some stops in Italy (Bologna, Venezia, Rome, Perugia) then off to Nice - Paris - Ronchamp - Zurich and back to Munich to fly home! first trip abroad and was wonderful! oh to do that again!

anyway have a super time Bea

Marie, well, sort of.
They are not Spa's. They are more like a hospital/hotel that has medical staff and that sends you to your appointments and feeds you.

The "Bad" = can stand for the bathroom or the bath
"Baden" = swimming, bathing

Edit: Thanks Harpo! You should have spent some time in Munich! That part of Germany is my favorite! Beautiful landscapes, mountains, and all the fairy tale castles are there.

George I've always loved Jeanette Mc Donald and Nelson Eddy. Sigh! I'll call you after work again tonight and will go over times for tomorrow. Don't want my Senior Moments to get in the way of anything. Cecilia loved to watch their Movies. Naughty Marietta is her favorite. So sad they never married each other in real life.

I forget who posted as to what days the Flower Show was available. They opened this past Sun. 3/1/09-3/8/09. They change wilting flowers nightly so they are always fresh. Towards the end I don't think they are as concerned in doing this, as I have gone near the end of the show, and was terribly disappointed in the displays.
