We have a new eagle coming to the Eagle center in May.

He's from Florida. He's about 8 lbs. He's blind in the left eye and 1 yrs old.

Isn't he a beauty.

Just my opinon, of coarse, but my preferance is to adopt from a shelter to help keep the number of "kills" down.

I agree however sometimes a dog especially for kids is harder to find in a shelter as with kids you need a very sweet gentle dog with not a whole lot of history.

To Be 6 Again...

A man was sitting on the edge of the bed, observing his wife, looking at herself in the mirror. Since her birthday was not far off he asked what she'd like to have for her Birthday.

'I'd like to be six again', she replied, still looking in the mirror.

On the morning of her Birthday, he arose early, made her a nice big bowl of Lucky Charms, and then took her to Six Flags theme park. What a day!

He put her on every ride in the park; the Death Slide, the Wall of Fear, the Screaming Monster Roller Coaster, everything there was.

Five hours later they staggered out of the theme park.

Her head was reeling and her stomach felt upside down.

He then took her to a McDonald's where he ordered her a Happy Meal with extra fries and a chocolate shake.

Then it was off to a movie, popcorn, a soda pop, and her favorite candy, M&M's. What a fabulous adventure! Finally she wobbled home with her husband and collapsed into bed exhausted. He leaned over his wife with a big smile and lovingly asked, 'Well Dear, what was it like being six again?'

Her eyes slowly opened and her expression suddenly changed. 'I meant my dress size, you retard!!!!'

The moral of the story:
Even when a man is listening, he is gonna get it wrong. rofl

All but one of my dogs has come from a shelter....I purchased one of my goldens from a Mennonite family...she had 2 litters of pups...first litter was only 1 puppy...I kept him (Nugz)....second litter was 6 pups that all went to close family friends (for $50 each to cover the cost of their shots)....I told them if they couldn't ever take care of the dog, that I would take it back...I did get one back from a young couple, who realized they just couldn't take proper care of him....that's my Boo...

Personally, I thing breeding pure bred dogs is just selfish and a money maker. Our shelters, rescue organizations and the Human Society have all kinds of dogs who need love and a nuturing home. Now that's doing the right thing in my opinion.
