I don't know about you George, but I am still hurting after Wednesday. My knees, and hips, even my back. As my little 9 y/o Grandson would say, "you done tore me up!" Love all of the pictures you took. Thanks for doing that. By the way who won the Game?

Philly 3, Norfolk 2.

Yeah I am having some minor ankle pain and some discomfort with shin splints but not as bad as it was yesterday. However, having had foot problems for years one sort of gets used to it to some extent. However, I may decide to shell out the $400 for a new set of custom molded orthotic appliances for my feet and arches eventually. If my health plan doesnt change thier policy on paying for them that is.

The Blackwater parent just brought food. Anyone have any ideas about what it is? It looks to me like there is a face on it, towards the top.

not sure what it is actually, by the legs on the rear i would say wabbit perhaps. Unless that curl at the one end isnt a face and parhaps a tail. Then i was thinking a garden variety opossum but the shape doesnt seem to fit a possum

Hey George, just wanted to jump in here. I had to really pressure my insurance co. to cover orthotics for me (they did eventually) but, I've been hearing about a chain of stores called the 'New Feet Stores' that sell 'affordable' orthotic shoes and supplies. Not sure if they're back East but they come up in a web search, and may be worth looking into. I planned to if I ever get the time.

Oh ill have to check for that option. Ever since highschool ive worn them. I have big but narrow feet with very high arches compounded with bow legs. My feet tend to roll out onto the outer bone of the foot, the 5th metatarsal, causing pain there an.d irritating the tendons. The june prior to me breaking my thigh bone i had surgery to remove a tendon attached just above the arch on that leg and moved over more towards the center. This was to make my foot land more squarely with each step thus reducing the discomfort. Sad thing is it did but that was before the break of my femur.

The thing i get irriated with with my plan is they dont seem to fully recognize the importance of proper foot care for diabetics. They will pay 700 for shoddy crappily made diabetic shoes and some stupid inserts for them every few months but if one has narrow feet or no need to worry about having the shoe pinch ones toes they end up with what looks like shoes a clown would wear.

I am rather attached ot my feet and would prefer to stay that way as long as i can until the put me 6 feet under

Trish & Laurie... A lot of us on the Maine forum share your sentiments about "Mama C" (CSUB Great Horned Owl) though no one knows for sure that it was her. Very sad.... :'(

Marcia from the Maine Forum found a new GHO cam!!! It's located in Socorro, NM.
Here's her post with the info. about them...
Quote:

This is Al & Betty.  They live in Socorro New Mexico and have 3 eggs due to hatch in mid-March. Betty nests in a homemade 'sling' in the crook of a tree about 20' off the ground. This will be the 6th year they have nested in this area. In 2006 their nest tree fell, so in 2007 their human neighbors built them the nest you see in the picture, and they used it to successfully raise two chicks in 2007 and 3 chicks in 2008.

And here's the link to their cam... http://www.ustream.tv/channel/owl-cam :D ... Enjoy!

Awesome Lori!!! Thanks for sharing...another one to watch when having a sleepless night and the eagle cams are dark :D

Circlescribe...The store you are refering to is called "The Good Feet Store" and let me tell you they sure corrected my foot problem in no time. My problem was in my heel somewhere...been so long ago I don't remember exactly where...could barely put any pressure on it, therefore, walking was very painful. Went to the Dr. and did excerises and stopped just short of shots. Finally, DH said we are taking a drive up to TGFS and get this taken care of. At that time there was only one store in the northern San Diego area...now there are four. Also, two of my friends were having similar problems so after I got my inserts they saw the almost overnight results and away they went to get their inserts. I couldn't believe how quickly the pain stopped. I do not wear them all year...I'm in flip flops about eight months out of the year but when winter comes I notice that it's time to put on the winter shoes with the inserts.

This is so wild. On the PH nest, I have two separate cam videos, both the same with the same time running. I guess I'm the only one who has it. Nothing wrong with the pictures, it's just crazy wild that I have two.

This sunflower and more are blooming, thanks to the Scrub Jays that hides the seeds all summer long.... after they eat what they can, they take all they can and hide them, usually pushing leaves and soil over them... these are the ones they forgot to find later.... :><:
