Does anyone know where Sandie has been?  :ok:

Nope. I had an email from her earlier in the week.

Maybe she got the new place and is moving :X: :D

Thanks Laurie, I hope it's just her moving to her new perfect place! :X:

My morning with mom was hectic and not too fun.. she could not get her hearing aide working and cannot hear at all without it.. lots of tears..... I could not communicate over the phone so had to go over.... I dreaded taking it back to hearing aide store and then they would ship it off for repair, leaving her without anything but paper and pen... but, we got it working again...time for a new test and maybe a new hearing aide for her...anyway, time to go pick her up from her 'perm' today... hopefully she is still able to hear... I did her banking and shopping... picked up her prescriptions and bought jelly donuts and chicken nuggets for dad... my work here is done :)^ for now.... <3

Hey George, just wanted to jump in here. I had to really pressure my insurance co. to cover orthotics for me (they did eventually) but, I've been hearing about a chain of stores called the 'New Feet Stores' that sell 'affordable' orthotic shoes and supplies. Not sure if they're back East but they come up in a web search, and may be worth looking into. I planned to if I ever get the time.

Hi, Kris. Yes we have them here. My DD has to wear orthotics, too. So she and I visited their store. Impressive with their 'tests', etc. But they don't do custom made to your own feet orthotics. And they are not really all that inexpensive for what you get, IMHO.

NIFTY SUNFLOWER! VIBRANT COLOR!! genuine puddin shot "MY-T-FINE"!!! :)^ :clk:

ER:

Yeah the store bought arch supports they call orthotics are fine if one has just minor discomfort. However if one has serious problems custom molded seems the only way to go.

However...A skilled podiatrist can "modify" the store bought ones to provide the necessary lift in the right parts to allow ones foot to strike more correctly.

According to my doctors instructions, I got some by a brand called "Smart Feet" which are sold in such places as REI or Eastern Mountain. From time to time my foot doctor will add the necessary lift or whatever to them and my feet are happier. I however, being cheap, got them from a retailer on line for about $30 via amazon. From the waist down i am a wreck, first the dang thigh fracture, the ongoing problem of my bow legs and my narrow high arched foot rolling out with each step

When on rolls their foot inwards on the inner bone that is referred to as "Pronation" while rolling out onto the outer bone is called "Supponation". I supponate. Those who over pronate are pigeon toed while we who supponate could be called duck footed. <~~QUACK! QUACK! rofl

Hi guys....Eaggleaddict never feel "out of place" with us. We come here and yap about everything. Hope to meet up with you and you'll feel warm fuzzies.

Laurie that sounds like my neighbor Amy's new kitten. She thinks her food is her toys. It's all over the house. Those two kitties have made very good friends already.

Peetie I'm sure all your Kitties will be happy all together soon. How you doin?

So here is the rundown of my life for the past few days :boohoo: :8O: :hair: :hair: :hair: :hair: :W: :W: :bzz: :bzz: Or maybe I just have to s p e l l i t o u t!!! AAAGGGHHH. GRRRRRR. The place that I was so sure that I would get just didn't even work out. I was so dissappointed. So it has been back to the drawing board looking for another place. (The one the Boccalli's owns was so perfect....oh well) I guess I'm depressed and dissappointed. Have had several other "issues" also around here. For one the drug dealer got out of jail so now I am very very careful when I come home at night. School of course is keeping me busy. Been trying to listen to the text book on CD and it's hard for me to study that way.

I may have to go to pt with this shoulder from the falll in the mud I did out in front of the apt. It's just really bothering me.

Lala I made that sesame chicken salad and it did not taste nearly as wonderful as what you made me. How important is the rice wine vinegar to that recipe? I used red vinegar. Maybe that's what was different????

I've been looking for help to move a place to move to and dr's apt's and tests and school and and and....sorry I haven't checked in. I'd rather be :<S><: at Lake Casitas!!!

PANDA UPDATE

Friday, March 6
This week Xi Lan has spent more time on the ground in the dayrooms, running around and playing with his mother or the enrichment items. However, he still prefers to spend most of the day in his favorite spot on the climbing structure with the hammock. He has also ventured over into the other dayroom a couple of times and climbed up to the top of the structure in there. He even fell asleep up in that structure one afternoon, but overall he spends very little time in that dayroom. Xi Lan’s latest weight is 11.4 kg. (25 lbs.).

Wouldn't we all Sandie. That is so disheartening to find out you are unable to get yourself out of that place yet :(
Wish I knew some way to help you out with the search  Get some PT for your shoulder before it turns into a 'frozen' one which is really a big pain in more ways than one. It took me almost a year to get full movement back in one of mine after a mishap a few years ago. Get them to use the 'tens' machine on it every time you go too...the electrodes make things jump and it feels wonderful...makes the recovery happen much faster :ok:

Laurie I wonder if she knows that you don't feel better. Maybe the insurance is dictating what she is doing. If you don't say something.....speak up girl!!!

I went to the podiatrist and he looked at my xrays on my ankle and made a funny noise and asked how I was even walking on that???? I guess they are doing better on ankle replacements. I refuse to have it fused. If they get much better on replacements I might go for that later. But if I fuse it it's harder to do anything else later.

The dentist wants to pull another tooth Cricket and I just asked for another consult. I want to go to UCLA and see if a root canal would help. It's not giving me any grief at the moment.

Sounds like you and George had wayyyyyy toooooo much fun together. So glad it worked out and you got some great new "babies" to bring home and grow. I dare not to bring ANYTHING home. I'll just have to move it!!
