Lala: the business side of the peacock is just as beautiful and interesting as the showy side. It looks like a perfectly arrange flower....er, feather....arrangement...can't improve on Mother Nature.

So you can see that when a peacock starts losing his feathers, there can be huge red ones or long grey ones and the pretty striped ones from his wing... then the pretty 'eyes'.... I love them all....

And looky here....I don't know who Robyn is...but that's my nephew on piano!! Wish I'd known he was going to be on Jimmy Kimmel....I used to change his diaper 30+ years ago! My brother told me when he was here that he's (Max) living in NY and doing alllll sorts of different music gigs...I'm so happy for him...NOT easy to make a living doing what you love in the music world. He just finished touring Europe with We Are Scientists...I know, I never heard of them either but they were on David Letterman a few months ago:

Karen, I was going to try and explain that when the peacock shuffles his huge tail out.. the tall grey feathers are lowered so the pretty feathers can get in position.. and as soon as it is totally spread out, the tall feathers come back up and hold the thinner feathers in place...lots of energy being used while the feathers are being displayed...  a well structured bird...

LaLa sounds complicated to me but what a beautiful bird to have strutting around your neighborhood. We only see them around here in zoos but we do see turkeys strutting in the wild here.

Mom is still hanging in there, but is getting weaker. Kinda hard getting her to eat much now, but not for lack of trying. I do try to make it a point to at least get her dessert down.
She sleeps much of the time, but they are getting her up and out of bed as much as possible.
Today was pretty nice, so we had lunch out on the patio today to get some sun and fresh air. I put my sunglasses on her and she looked very hip and cool B)
I bought one of those foamy eggcrate bed pads for her, and some new nighties today. Much easier to dress her in the gowns instead of PJ's.
My sister is flying in tomorrow night to help out and spend some time.

Lala: no, that's not him. You might find him somewhere under Max Hart. He was also in a heavy metal band in L.A. for awhile called The High Speed Scene...made at least one CD....do NOT listen to this music!!! LOL The lyrics were shocking to this old aunt.
