And if memory serves me wrong, I thought K-10 was Patrick, and so named due to being hatched on St Patricks day? WHich would make 3-17 his birthday???

Please feel free to set me straight. People keep trying :)

Edit~Never mind, found my own answer in that search thingy up top. He was fostered on St Patrick's day.
I hate that feeling of confusion. Makes me a little paranoid! :o

Hi Trish :Hugs: No worries. Confusion is a human condition. Your comment brought to mind the last lines of an Edna St. Vincent Millay sonnet, about a Roman myth of a mortal woman having the son of a God:

"Pain and compassion will he know, being mine;
confusion never: that is half Divine."

And Happy Birthday to K10 from me too! :bday:

Great Blue Heron
Posted Image
copied from the Ventura Star
Naturalists stress that many species are dependent on Lake Casitas' own ecosystem. Steelhead do present a barometer of a healthy riverine environment, but the lake and its surrounding watershed also provide habitat for a number of species of concern. Recently, bald eagles have been seen at the lake. Last week, I observed great blue herons near the shoreline creating this year's nests. Great egrets, horned larks, loggerhead shrike, horned and whiptail lizards, migratory birds and various raptors all enjoy a healthy living ecosystem around the lake. Keeping this extended ecosystem of the Ventura River in balance requires a conscientious holistic approach toward watershed management.

Mrs. Goose, Thank you for all your Blackwater eagle photos. :)^

I think that is one of last years Blue Herons, it looks rather young to me.

Karen(MrsGoose)-I've enjoyed the pictures you & your DH take! I think the cloudy day helped make for good pictures & the reflections in the water made the photos even better!

Linda, the sunflower & the peacock photos were great!

George, as I mentioned to you, enjoyed your flower photos!

Thanks to all for the daily great photos! Even if they aren't taken by you, it's nice that you share! Like those Heron ones Topa, very pretty bird! Prettier than the one I saw at the Santa Barbara harbor.

Just posted another Low Fat Recipe in the Exchange for Fresh Fruit Dip, since the Summer is coming soon, I thought this would be appropriate.

Am working on my Menu for this Wednesday too.

Well, they were great photos Topa! Sorry I didn't realize you had taken them! They were of the quality that Mike Eliason takes for our local newspaper!
