Paula - Very early this morning I too noticed for the first time a black spot what looked like a hole in one of the NCTC eggs. Incubating parent also looked a bit more attentive at the time. Can't wait for those chicklets to hatch, Lib and Belle are such good parents.

Well my day/week is off to a louzy start. Maria just called me to let me know my sister and Granddaughter were involved in an auto accident this morning on their way to school/work. We think they are ok. Joan just got Ins. on the van! WHEW! Then Ken tell me the Hygienist is sitting out in her car in the Parking Lot @ 8 A.M. ,and she's not due till 9:45. The Agency called ,and I told them to send her away and have her return @ the scheduled time. They asked if I could go right down but I am just getting up at that hour. I have things to take care of prior to going into the Office. Good luck George in geting your staples out. Try not to cry! Well I guess I'll start down and see what I can do there before it hits the fan. |

Then go to BOARD SETTINGS, towards the bottom of the menu on the left side. There is a box that needs to be checked for Daylight Savings Time. Then click the CHANGE MY ACCOUNT OPTIONS button at the bottom.

If you are interested -- Pandas and the Earthquake at WolongThe earthquake at Wolong is one of the segments on this week's Untamed and Uncut. The episode is called "Catapulted Horse Racer." There is some incredible footage of the pandas during the earthquake and of the caretakers rescuing them. It actually shows one of the mountains exploding and cascading down on the compound. I was confused by something they said at the end though. They said that Wolong has been rebuilt and all the pandas are back home. I think something must have been lost in translation because the pandas are still dispersed, and it was recently announced that they were going to rebuild in Gengda Town which is northwest of the original research center. They are hoping to have it finished by 2011. Side note: The toddlers they show being rescued are the ones that were born the year I was there. And one of them was Mao Mao's baby. Mao Mao was the panda who was killed in the earthquake. The same episode also features a beached whale rescue in Santa Barbara. I was very impressed that Exxon lent two of their rigs to help rescue the whale. |
