Thanks Carole for the NCTC update. Both the Maine & Norfolk forums have been down since Sunday!!! :(
I sure hope they can be fixed and that all the info. on them is still there. :X:
No word from Paula yet???

Lori - I found this temporary link to the Maine forum (on the owl cam :P ) so you can check it out. I sure hope that their archives were backed up, what a shame if all was lost, it's a well run forum. Nothing was on Paula's blog so am anxiously waiting to see if there is a chick.

Poor K10 is being divebombed by those nasty ravens! One is on the camera tree across from him, doing those nasty raven noises. I hope K26 comes back and prepares a meal of Raven for lunch, make that 2! :o

I wonder if Raptormans Forum is down because of the same reason as these two?
Ian? I heard it had something to do with phpbb forums. Were the Maine and Norfolk phpbb?

Edit: Carole, good thought about the backing up. I wonder if this Forum is being backed up in any way?

Thanks Carole... Yes I have the temp. forum link already but it's just not home. :(

Bea... Yes, I bet that's what's wrong with Raptorman's forum. I know that Birds Cams Around the World (BCAW) is down too.
I've emailed with quite a few people from different forums and no one is getting any answers from phpbb at all about what's going on. Very scary....
Really makes you think about stuff like back-ups huh?

Maybe the Mods could tell us if we have any kind of backup in place here?

I don't know what to think after reading this one :o Eaglehandler maybe you can give us your two cents worth. I don't know if this eagle has a disability, but what are the chances it could survive for a long period in the wild when it was part of a 'Bird's of Prey Show'?
What about the jesses????

I didn't read yesterday yet and am trying to get thru today and trying to find the top of my desk Has Andie posted? while home in Ohio - due to rain thru the night and continuing on Sun - we decided to go to Findlay to shop instead of heading to Indiana!

The ditches along I-75 were raging rivers with the off flow from the fields and creeks! What were we thinking going up there to shop - who knows! We had no clue that it had rained so much more and harder north of us. We didn't stay long cause we worried a bit about making it back home.

Some low lying areas in town were closed due to flooding and on Monday tons of schools delayed. Findlay schools were closed and I see in today's paper they ended up with tons of high water and river overflow! Big rains/storms going thru their again today.

On Sunday there were also tornados in the area arounds us - we lucked out. So I'm not sure how far north the storms had traveled and was wondering if Sandusky missed all the water, etc. I'm back in NY arriving a few hours ago. Flew out of Columbus very early this AM - and when I got to Baltimore to change planes there were delayed and canceled planes due to the latest round of storms coming thru the midwest area.

So be safe folks if you are in that path!

We were talking about mushrooms a few days ago.
This article is in the Ventura County Star online today:

S.B. man dies after sautéing wild mushroom with steak
SANTA BARBARA, Calif. (AP) — An 82-year-old Santa Barbara man is dead after eating wild mushrooms he picked and sauteed with a steak.
The man, whose name is being withheld, died March 5 at Santa Barbara Cottage Hospital.
The man had picked poisonous amanita ocreata mushrooms, which are common in the Santa Barbara area, at the Douglas Family Preserve above Arroyo Burro Beach.
His family says he sauteed the mushrooms and ate them with a steak. About six hours later, he became seriously ill and was hospitalized.

These are what he ate.

Deb, glad you made it back safely. WOW, all that flooding, everyone in the path of that, be safe.

The Mayor of our City and 3 councilman, including my DH and DW's (including yours truly) will be leaving on Saturday for Washington DC. I truly hope the weather there is fit for getting out. I searched out a few cache locations and I'm looking forward to finding my first. Last Sunday, Jaimen and I searched for several here, but no go. Jaimen loved that and wants to go again. He was my navagator because I let him be in charge of the GPS. So much fun just to watch his inthusiesum. We will go again and retry.
