Well the canadian buddy of killroy would have been "Herbie" in Canada and his Aussie and UK chum would have been "Mr Foo". says wikipedia Similar drawings by the UK troops were made only insted of kilroy the charachter looking over the wall or fenc was "Chad" Kilroy was the most popular of his type in World War II, as well as today. Herbie (Canadian), Overby (Los Angeles- late 1960s), Chad (British- WW II), and Mr. Foo (Australian- WW I & II) never reached the popularity Kilroy did |

Glad you liked it. I have a slide of my father next to kilroy somewhere in Germany circa late 1945 holding a paint brush. However i dont think he painted it as the paint was rather grungy. I think it was done as a gag to send home to his younger brother. |

Nick - Hi! Glad you popped into chat. Hope you enjoy all the nests and get to watch the eggs hatching soon. Penny - Love your avatar, Siobhan is so beautiful. Peetie - All of your cats are so beautiful and so lucky to have you as their Mom. LaLa - Have a wonderful time with all the girls in Palm Desert. DH and I have spent many holidays there playing golf and horseback riding in the mountains, it's a wonderful spot so enjoy every minute of it. Well I am going to call it a night now, early golf game tomorrow. But.............I am going to attack a box of chocolate/mint Girl Guide cookies first, couldn't resist buying them from this precious little 4 year old in the mall. Sweet dreams everyone.

Nick - Welcome to the forum! Lots of information can be learned here. Lala - George - when I developed diabetes and was in the hospital, my Dad came to visit, but I wasn't in my room. He left a business card with, you guessed it, Kilroy was here. I'll never forget it! |

I think any Vet who served during the Big one (1939-45) and that hubbub a few years later around the 38th paralell has to know and have seen good ole Kilroy. Tis rather interesting to look at the icons from the past wars. Or terms used such as ""Victory cabbage" instead of Sauerkraut during ww1. |
