 Funny. I'm not really sure what's happening a couple people think that there are 4 eagles some say three. I'm not sure I'm not watching it since I'm at work, just checking in occassionally. I guess the same thing was going on yesterday. It's to bad the lighting at the cam is so awful today, can't really see much of what's happening. As the Nest Turns. . . Wish these eagles would settle the dispute and get down to nest business. Where is Judge Judy when you need her  |

Happy Birthday, Christine! Sandie, glad to see you finally made an appearance last night. Missed you.. Had to take Jaimen to the dr this morning..soar throat, high fever. Dr did a strep test but it showed negative, but he said it looked like strep so he is treating it as such. He is a sick little guy and is asleep now. He could use some prayers and from our special eagle loving cruzers. I know you will come thru for him. going out to Bev and her Mom and all who are a little under the weather.BBL |

I think that is now a discontinued model. However,on one of my cameraholic super store sites a used one goes for 159.00 in E+ condition. Many of the makers have similar cameras which resemble a traditional SLR body in terms of shspe. Canon,Nikon,Sony and Panasonic all have similar models with 10 to 12x OPTICAL zooms with good quality lenses. Sony uses carl zeiss lenses and panasonic uses the Leica made vario elmar(it) 12x lens on many of thier lumix bodies. However, before buying anything on anyone's recommendation, mine included, I strongly suggest actually going to a real store such as fry's or ,gasp choke, ritz/wolf to actually "feel up the merchandise" to narrow down your choices. The reason for that is that if one has relatively large hands or small hands or even thick coke bottle lensed glasses some could be more cumbersome to handle the controls or to view thru its viewfinder. Then, of course you can shop for the deals. One other tip, often you may see an item listed by an online retailier with a usa and an imported price. The imported price is not much lower but can be aggrevation should you need warranty service as the unit wont be covereed by teh manufacturer's USA warranty. These items are not imported thru the normal impoter and are often referred to as "Gray market". Personally, with all the electronics in a digital camera, i would not buy a non manufacturer warrantied item. (FWIW) edited Just took a look see on the canonUSA.com site and the S3 is not a current model. If my short term memory serves me correctly the lower end powershot is the S10 now. ![]() |

wrightflyer, I have the Canon Powershot S2 IS, which is a fairly old model, but it is a good camera with a 12x zoom (at that time I think that was the highest you could get but you can get higher now). I bought my new 40D DSLR because of the inherent limitations of a point & shoot camera, but there was certainly nothing wrong with the camera, and I still have it and will use it for some things that I don't want to haul around the 40D and lenses for. I'm sure the later models are probably quite good too - the Canon point & shoot cameras are all quite good as far as I know. |
