Andie we were in Findlay that Sunday that it poured and the flooding - we left just before it got terribly bad - what were we thinking! Then all the tornado warnings - we had some weird skies but it eventually blew thru. Other than that - not so bad! :P

That's great about the guitar - my son has played for years .... I like to listen.... :><:

and no - Phil hasn't shown yet - I think Trinity has a new toy and has it hidden under her bed :(
so looks like we'll have a new eagle traveling buddy this year :BE:

Bald Eagle Recovering at Wildlife Center

Q13 FOX News

Posted Image

March 16, 2009

A bald eagle is at the Sarvey Wildlife Center in Arlington recovering after it was injured on I-5 Sunday afternoon.

A couple of good Samaritans and Washington State Patrol blocked off traffic near the UW.

Troopers covered the bird with a blanket and carried it off to the side of the road.

The animal was taken to the Sarvey Wildlife Center in Arlington where workers believe he is suffering from a concussion.

They do not believe the bird was hit by a car but say high winds could have knocked the eagle into a barrier.

They say the bird is about 6-years-old, they've named him "Ravenna" since he was found near the Ravenna Boulevard exit on I-5.

Workers are nursing the bird back to health and say the long term goal is to release him back to the wild.

Administrative Director Kelly Pattison tells Q13 Fox News "assuming everything goes well, he would be inside for a while then move outside to a larger enclosure to get his flight muscles back up and then we would hopefully be able to release him back into the seattle area".

There is no timeline for when the release could happen.

In the video they refer to this bird as a 6 year old but why is the head and tail looking more like a 4 year old :<::

Yes, I think Melissa is going to be great on Dancing With the Stars! As for Jason, I think she should consider herself a lucky girl to have seen that side of him as early as she did. She could have ended up with a lot more invested in him before she ever saw his real side.

 Kathie, thanks for noticing. Yes I feel better each day. I've not taken any type of pain med today. And I feel pretty darn good. :><:

DH and I are going to the "Shamrock" for dinner tonight. We're meeting friends. One of my friends is finding out as we speak if she is having a boy or a girl, and her and her DH will be sharing with us at dinner. I'm thinking it's a boy. :D

Penny - How do you always know about every eagle who falls from the sky? Ravenna's story is heartening and I do hope s/he will be released before long. I agree that this eagle is a lot younger than they seem to think...

I loved the "Bald Eagle in a blanket" line in the video - is that anything like pigs in a blanket??? rofl I hope not!

Laurie - :)^ :><:

Kathie, I also meant to say that part of my "chiper-ness"  is also because we have had five very pretty sunny warmish days. Does wonders for a persons attitude. :*: :*: :*: :*: :*: = B) :D :)

A friend called me this morning about Ravenna. She didn't know the whole story, but was concerned that it might have been one of our birds. Told her I hadn't heard anything about it, but we had one person on our forum that always found and shared stories about eagles. I knew you'd have the story on the forum soon and I was right. Thanks, Penny!
