To all the new members.

Eaglehandler I'm so sorry about your Bird's toe problem. I used to have an Amazon and always tried to give her natural things like natural wood sticks from the pet store without a problem, but whatever you do weird things like that can happen. They say any toy that squeaks is potentially a choking hazard for pets. I once had a Guinea Pig who got a small piece of the Cedar bedding in the cage stuck in her inside cheek food pouch. It abscessed, was a lengthy, miserable, multiple vet visit thing that she eventually succumbed to. :'( And the cause was a common bedding recommended for small animals at the time, which was many years ago, and by now I think there are 'greener' and better bedding choices. The Pigeons in our area have a lot of missing toes, some only stumps for feet, that I think are from fishing line from the nearby fishing pier, and other manmade things that get caught around their feet. :(

What a shame that you had to settle for an IOU! That sort of ticks me the H E double toothpicks off. I bet if you had owed them money and sent them an IOU they would have been on you faster than crap through a goose. With that logic it would seem to me that if an IOU is good for the goose it should be just as good for the Gander.

Well, I survived my schlepp to the foot doctor and some minor adjustments to my arch support/orthotic were made. I noticed a big difference on the 3/4mile walk home from the bus too! :)^

Not that i want to bore anyone but my crocuses have started to fully bloom so i thought i would share two shots i just got when i returned home

Exactly George, I know if employers sent him an IOU for employee state taxes, the law would be handcuffing us and taking us off to the pokey! As you know state employees are having to take 2 days off a month without pay. Lovely stuff in California.

George, love the detail you manage to get of the pistal & stamen . . . lovely DOF especially on that first one:clk:
What a nice sight that must have been

Hope the "difference" you could tell from that 3/4 mi. walk was a positive difference :ok:

The difference was noticable! I have no shin splints from the walk and even the outer metatarsal bone of the one foot doesnt hurt. All the podiatrist did was add some moleskin under the support to create more lift. So when we finally get it right and i can be pain free when walking, I shall be ready to fork over 350.00 and get the custom molded orthotics that worked well for me for almost 30 years now. This way, i can avoid the diabetic "Clown shoes" that to me are a waste of money given the way i wore through the only pair i ever was stupid enough to get.

That is Mt. Margaret in the foreground & off to the right is Mt. Longonot, which I had the opportunity to climb up to the top once. It is a volcano.
