Darn, missed the Maine eagles. :(

Jules Elaine Ruth was just on chat the other day, and I've had a couple emails from her yesterday. I'm sure she's getting ready for her trip to CA soon.
She also posts more at the IWS forum too.

Pretty Crocus pictures George.

Hummers are getting really big. There's not to much more room in the nest.

Her cage looks pretty bare right now, except the cuddle toy she's sleeps by.  This is the first serious accident in 9 yrs. so I guess we're not doing too bad.

We'll start reintroducing toys when she's recuperated enough after tomorrow's surgery.

How terrible that Gabriel was hurt by one of her toys Eaglehandler :( I had no idea that something seemingly harmless could cause a bird to lose a toe :'( :'( :'( . Hope she recovers with no ill effects from the trauma.

The Pigeons in our area have a lot of missing toes, some only stumps for feet, that I think are from fishing line from the nearby fishing pier, and other manmade things that get caught around their feet. :(

Kris that is just unbelievable :boohoo:

:}^ Laurie, how was your Irish night out?

We were serenaded by copious voices and jazz music until the wee hours....that's what comes from being in the middle if all the action in Old Town Pasadena.

She's actually pretty calm. She's on antibiotics and pain meds. She was dancing when I was cleaning her cage this morning. Which is normal behavior cause I put music on and everybody dances when the cleaning is going on.

Eaglehandler, I'm so glad she's dancing to the music! They are such resilient creatures. I sure hope she recovers and keeps on dancing.

My DH took this picture this morning on Broad Beach Road in Malibu... edit:.. My DH said the word is that many birds were let loose during the Malibu fires.... makes sense if the cage were too big to pick up and you had too many birds to rescue.. :o

Double posting this in Chat and Cruzer Events...

<::: WARNING/Announcement: The newspaper this morning told of how the 405 FWY would be CLOSED for Pres. Obama's motorcade today as he visits Orange County... just as an FYI to those of you in the vicinity and who are planning on attending the 'Egg Roll' at Panda Palace tomorrow night, the President will be departing Long Beach at 6pm, Thursday, March 19 and who knows what that will do to traffic patterns in that area as you are trying to make your way towards Huntington Beach....
