Jillers - All the photos of your travels are so beautiful.  What an adventurous life you have led.  Ever thought about writing a book and illustrating it with your pics?  Thanks for sharing them with us and please keep them coming.

Thanks Carole! Nah, haven't thought about it, I'm not a writer & I don't have that many good pictures! :P I just traveled to places on my way to & from Africa both times I went. I only went to where I knew people! My friend's nephew was much more adventurous than me, he backpacked around the world & went many places where he knew no one! He made a DVD of his trip & it is awesome!

Topa will be interested to know that the person I stayed with in Israel was a hitchhiker I picked up in California one time! :D

And here is a concentration camp in Belgium (if my memory serves me right). May we NEVER FORGET-

Jill - I was out looking for some clipart today and found this, which made me think of you.  Being graphics deprived like I am here at work, I can't always remember what peeps have on their sigs so if you already have this - c'est la vie!.

LOVE it Kathie, thanks! It's running action is the motion of a cheetah, which is my very favorite big cat! I'm snagging it for sure!  :D

Jill - You know that's a cheetah and I know that's a cheetah but did you notice what they called it in the img code? A tiger!

George, on last nights subject, do you remember Mort Pharr (or Farr) from a 69th St. furniture store???? He use to do his own TV commercials and he was AWFUL!!!!!!!!

No i think he was before my time but then I had hte fun of watching the ads for "krass brothers men's store! stor of the stars!" located at 911 south street.

Ben Krass was a frustrated actor and had the campiest ads such as the ad opening showing a casket with him rising from it and saying "I wont go if im not in a krass brothers suit" and other gems, and i use that term tounge and cheek, with lots of bikini clad babes.

he was one advertiser who was instrumental in getting a notice by the folks of Madison Avenue ad agencies with his use of the 15 second tv ads. Later national advertisers began to use those in thier national campaigns.

The furniture store ads i dont remember but there was some huge car dealer down there who also had some kitschy ads but i cant recall his name.

Hmm, now i have a question for you regarding the old movie theaters of philly. Such as the boyd which is now going to be preserved or even the tower in 69th street.

I am trying to find the name of a theater on south 52nd street at around 52 and chestnut or walnut street that was where my great gradad would send my father to from his studio at 52nd and chestnut if he was a good boy. I know it wasnt hte Nixon because that was farther north at about 52nd and Haverford ave,

Happy Birthday to everyone!!!!!!

Gabriel (cockatoo) made it thru surgery just fine. She bled a little more than they thought so she has a compression bandage on her foot and a lovely cone on her head. They said she is not happy with this cone.

They are keeping her there until late afternoon for observation. Hubby will be picking her up since he's in town today. They did mention about her staying overnight there, but I think that she'll be much happier at home with the rest of the flock (16 other parrots).

Thanks for the well wishes and the :X: from everyone.

Yes I did notice & when I saved it I labeled it correctly! The tail is a little short for a cheetah & hard to see the dark lines on the face in something that small, but if it runs like a Cheetah, then it's a Cheetah! :P

Well, we don't get to "hear" from MIB very often just the shy second half. So thought Jann should have helped us out with that one. Thanks for posting it on Dave's behalf. Should be a nice celebration tonight.

Pattie thanks for "reminding" us more established members and educating our newbies to this tradition.

What'd I do now?
