George,  your link is broken.

Did you edit your post?  You can't do that with Photobucket videos.

I am not sure what i did, it was working but i have reposted the link and rechecked it with a few additional comments

George, your video works now. I just watched it. Thanks

this is one i captured but it is rather brief and you can see the fuzz ball in the beginning by moms talons in the shade. At the time dad was installing crib rails to the nest rim

you can see the eaglet in the frame above by mom along the bottom of the frame

edited: I think too that you can see piping on the egg to the right of the eaglet as mom gets ready to resume covering our new arrival and the unhatched and now hatching second egg. that black spot on the egg looks too irregular to be grass and it sure does look like a hole to me :><: :X:

we may have eaglett two by tomorrow sometime :X: :)^

GEORGE Thank you for the video--and you are so right--the egg is pipping! Good Catch!

ALINE <:3 :candle: Gone way too soon-- Deeptest sympathy to all her family and friends.

Her postings here on the Forum were beautiful and she will always be remembered here --as she now has been raised up on Eagles' Wings. <3

Kris, thanks for posting this great shot of the new parents and chick. I saw it live on cam but don't know how to capture and post pictures yet.

Adding my warm thoughts of Aline. whose memory lives on through her worthwhile contributions to this and other eagle forums. I will miss her. <3

Cheryl and Peppermint, I agree that it seems way too soon for the whoppers to be flying north again, but it is spring isn't it.

Undoubtedly the Cruzers are having a great time in Lancaster about now. Wish I could have joined them today. Even though I am only able to attend a couple of Cruzer functions, your pictures make me feel included in them all.

So happy that Norfolk has welcomed their first chick of the season. Reminds me of our dear Buddy and the hard time they went through last year. Looks like this year is going to be easier on the eagles all around. :X:

I was monitoring the Norfolk chat and someone said the second on came at 3:30 PM, and several people had seen it. :D

Thanks Pat... for posting about Aline's passing. She will be greatly missed by many people on many forums. :candle:

I have so enjoyed looking at everyone's pictures from the Cruzer get together. It looks like everyone had such a great time. Thanks for sharing them all with us.

More drama on the Maine nest this afternoon...
I just pray that the eagle is OK that got taken over the edge with such force. :'(

I had been watching momma norfolk all day today and while we know they can hear the eaglets in the shell as they make thier way out i found it rather interesting that momma norfolk would not let pa norfolk tend the eggs he just seemed to stand nearby.

I wonder if anyone remembers last years hatching on our nests and if they can recall if there were any parental switches while ours hatched??

George, I've been watching momma Norfolk off and on all day too. I wasn't able to see a second chick though. Did you see a second chick?

I've seen speculation today that the chick we have been watching is too strong to be newly hatched today and that it may have been hatched when the cam was down and mom just kept it hidden.

That would make a second chick a possibility although I haven't seen it. However, there is only one egg visible in the nest so maybe.

no all i saw was the piping in the egg nearest to the newly hatched eaglett. The pip hole is not that small which is why i think we may see a second eaglett at dawn tomorrow if the little one doesnt stop to rest that is.

Edited: I may be going down to nearby the Philly International Airport to see the local bald eagles nesting this saturday. IF sucessfull, I hope to have photos of the two eagles atop their nest. I think they are new arrivals to the John Heinz NWR but the location of the nest on an island in the middle of the wetlands does seem to be a perfect location for them with lots of yummy fish and other meals close by.
I think that if i wait to go when the trees start to bloom the view wont be as good so as the old song title went, "its now or never" rofl
