Thanks for the Lexi pictures Sharon. She's looking good! Sweet kitty too.

Trish, your video of the owl chicks while eating is hysterical. I cracked up at the mouse tail hanging out of Tiny's mouth.

Carole, your photos of the sandhill crane chicks are great. The first one is epecially spectacular.

This week I took a trip to the San Luis Obispo area to visit my grandparents. I went out to practice with my camera (I need to take a class and/or read some books...or just listen to George...because I haven't quite figured out the whole focus thing). :clk:

Anyway, I stopped by the Morro Bay State Park Bird Sanctuary. No cams on these nests, but they were fun to watch in person for a little while. These are from the "Great Blue Heron Rookery". You can see a couple of nests and birds at the top of the trees in the first picture, and then a little bit closer on one of the nests. (They say the trees die off eventually because the birds have nested there for years, and the urea from their poop eventually kills the trees...big eucalyptus trees.)

And I thought Peetie would like this...it's a Sea Otter frolicking in the kelp beds at Morro Bay.

And lastly, some Elephant Seals hanging out on the lower dock of the Port San Luis pier. They were huge! (And signs up everywhere saying not to get too close...I guess they bite! They definitely growl...they were making quite a racket!)

This one is my favorite Andrea! I love San Luis Obispo, that's where I went to college! Hope you're having good weather & a wonderful visit with your Grandparents! :D My favorite sandwich shop in the world is Benjamin Franklins there on Marsh Street! :P
