Harpo, you and Gary will find that the rain is probably over... we get so excited out here for any hint of rain that we tend to make a big deal out of it.. It is beautiful here now and I doubt that there will be anything else... Your weather on Catalina will be perfect!! |

While visiting down south with the Cruzers, I found time to visit the nurseries that I love in that area... Roger's Gardens is the best I have ever seen it... having its Spring Open House with extraordinary displays, both inside and out... I spent too much $$ there... some plants, some Easter things.... after 4 nurseries, I now have 8 tomato plants and some new pretty plants to get in the ground... my DS came over yesterday and I watched the girls while he put in a new garden area for the tomatos.... He is really into the tomato mania going on right now in a handful of nurseries around the southland... I will take a picture of my new garden.... |

Lala~I totally LOVE your rainbow, and it looks so green and clean. Beautiful shot. Great pix of Penny, and Jillers time together too. Good stuff. It's raining here in Anaheim, and my garden is currently smiling. |

Another Eagle 'poaching' story. The bizarre thing is that most of these people who are caught seem to be Native Americans who by tradition 'revere' and 'respect' Bald Eagles....I guess not when big bucks are involved. Eight charged in killing of eagles, hawks BY DAVID HENDEE WORLD-HERALD STAFF WRITER Eight Nebraskans have been accused of killing bald eagles and red-tailed hawks and selling their feathers. U.S. Attorney Joe Stecher charged Lamar Bertucci and Shane Bertucci of Macy, Neb., both with three felony counts Friday. The brothers live on the Omaha Indian Reservation. Six others from Macy, South Sioux City, Walthill and Winnebago were indicted on misdemeanor violations. The investigation involves the illegal killing and unlawful selling of eagle and hawk feathers in northeast Nebraska. The indictments follow a federal sweep across the West last week in cases involving the illegal feather trade. Forty agents made arrests in Washington, Oregon, California, Nevada, Montana and Kansas involving the shooting or trapping of hundreds of eagles. "This is a severe problem across the nation," said Mark Webb of Denver, special agent in charge of covert investigations for the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service. Only American Indians may obtain permits to possess eagle and hawk feathers for religious and ceremonial purposes. No one, including Indians, is allowed to shoot, trap, sell, barter or trade feathers from any eagle or hawk. Lamar Bertucci, 23, was charged with shooting and killing a bald eagle, possessing eagle feathers and selling hawk feathers in 2007. Shane Bertucci, 25, was charged with shooting and killing two bald eagles and selling hawk feathers in 2006. Maximum possible penalties for the brothers range from one to two years in prison and fines of $100,000 to $250,000. http://www.omaha.com/index.php?u_page=2798&u_sid=10591599 |
