GREAT photos this morning - I LOVE Roger's Gardens, Lala - like a trip to a museum each time! Your shots of Ojai this morning are outstanding and Sara's 'baby picture' (apologies to Ostrich :D) of our First Family's mom to be is priceless as are the mini-Cruzer get-togethers, Zachary's inventive project, and the chicken brooding the pup....I'm in the process of clearing the memory 'chip' on my camera to ready it for searching for eagles this week AND, of course, for Santa Barbara on Friday - actually crossing fingers on both accounts ... Friday due to work concerns and Hannah's schedule and the Island due to this storm front moving through causing wind advisories - not the best day for a crossing but hoping the weather gods are in sync and the forecast holds for better conditions early in the week! I'll post more pix of the Cruzer gathering last Thursday but for now, here's one for Peetie - peering at me through the window of the "Sacred Door" (which is, appropriately, a 'Dutch' Door!)

Yeah Patti - mine let me sleep in their bed every night..... I threw my robe on the foot of the bed earlier and they have been taking turns claiming it - right now Rusty has snagged it. Lexi wants to know who Peetie is and why she just gt all those hugs! Hi Joanie!! I hope you have a great trip later in the week! I was just getting ready to plant a couple plants and it's looking pretty gray! I'm gonna give it a shot~~ |

We tried to find different pictures of you that I know I have seen posted in the past - this was a bit of a 'challenge' as you were holding a 'beanie' close to your face and when we took the beanie away, then you had no ear on that side As I explained to someone else, this 'silliness' started last year when we thought of the idea to have a full-size replica plywood cutout of Dr. Pete so Cruzer visitors to the Sacred Door could have their picture taken with it .... after looking into it, we found that it's not inexpensive and decided that it was perhaps frivolous and that money like that would be better spent on the eagles for whatever is needed for the program ... so we looked for an alternative... we, with Vanessa's help, snagged all kinds of pictures of Pete from the Forum and none of them that were posted were of a high enough resolution to prevent the pixilating when blown up to 'life-size' ... we were getting such a kick out of our experiments that we just decided to 'go for it' and make a "Flat Pete' to join us for Hula's Grand Adventure last Spring... last I saw of THAT version, it was heading North in Hula's luggage!

George i read this on internet.....is this true ??? Send you an email too from a dutch photosite..... i read your explaination but this they say at site's where they sell these lens: 4.3 x zoom range of 70-300mm. Similar to 105-450mm when the lens is used on a digital SLR do you know or this is true ?? thanks again... hugs peetie |

yes NIKON non "DX" lenses are for the size of the 35mm film frame and not the digital frame size thus the crop factor there making it equate to a 450mm on a film body nikon such as my F100 or the consumer N65 before nikon went primarily to digital bodied slrs. Odd thing with nikon is that the model designations in europe differ from their usa counterparts. Here the lower cost consumer film body SLR was the Nikon N55 but in europe i think it was known as the F55 |
