Linda-This would make a great Ojai postcard! You ought to go into the postcard/notecard business! I have a friend in New Zealand who does that with her photos!

My aunt who lives in Hemet emailed me today and said that she has found an interesting discovery near the clubhouse in the mobile home park where they live. A mama sandpiper has laid her eggs in the decorative rocks! There are 4 eggs. She took pics but she doesn't know how to use her camera and didn't even realize there was a zoom on it until I told her to "zoom, woman, zoom!" The 1st pics she took were not zoomed but then she went back and zoomed it for the pics of the eggs after mama was gone. As you can see the eggs really blend in with the rocks. It will be interesting to see if they hatch, if they are even viable, and hopefully, no dog, cat or other animal will get to them. If you look closely on the rocks by the grass you will see the mama ![]() ![]() mama taking off ![]() eggs...can you find them?

Karen ~ That bird is smart! With the sun, the rocks could incubate the eggs when mom was away! Hidden in plain sight.

Yes, Marti, that's true. Just hope someone doesn't step on them, either. Hopefully, they use the sidewalks and crosswalks and don't cross thru the rocks.
