Was looking at one of the german stork nest cams this morning and mrs stork is sitting on the nest atop the chimney of one building there. She may be preparing to lay an egg. Perhaps peetie would know this. I am not sure if this is a german or dutch legend and perhaps you could clue me in. Isnt it considered to be good luck to have storks take up residence on the chimney of your house? Somewhere in my youth i recall being told this but need a refresher course for my memory |

Good morning eagleholics. I was away yesterday. Had some things to do for my mom and grocery shopping then DH and I did some Spring cl**ning around the house that I needed help with. Then went to the Inn up the road and watched some of the race. Our local hospital had a major issue yesterday. At the time we heard the call go out we thought it was just a drill. Turned out it wasn't. There was an explosion in the boiler room. Patients at the hospital had to be evacuated to other hospitals. No one was injured. Ambulances from all over the county were here to help with the evacuation. As of this morning the hospital remains closed. Only in and out patients are being accepted. The Physical Therapy department remains open so I'll still have PT tomorrow. Congratulations going out to Norfolk. Two chickletts Wonder if we will have three soon. I love all the Spring flower pictures. I'm jealous. It's cold here this morning. The morning news on the tv said we currently have a wind chill of 3 below zero. Brrrr. So no flowers here, still lots of snowbanks and mud. Good news by the end of the week it's suppose to be in the 50s .I'll chat with you all later. Going to go do some more Spring cl**ning.

Good morning, everybody. Home from my mother's, got her place all sparkling clean and the laundry is all done, meals set for the week. Now I have to get my own place in order! It's one month now since she had her knee replacement surgery so she is getting there. Still using a walker and can't use the stairs, maybe in a couple of weeks once the doctor gives the OK she can switch to a cane.Laurie, that's quite an evacuation at the hospital. Glad to know that no-one was hurt. Petra, "I'm the boss" so cute. George, lovely purple flower photos. Eagleaddict, I like the purple theme to start the day, and your cheerful comments. ![]() Carole, thank you for the Eagleland updates! I received an email that the Hornby nest has an egg. Enjoy your day, everyone. |

Petra, a cane is a straight stick with a curved handle (a walking stick). What is it called in Dutch? |
