Don't you just love how tender the eagles are with their new little eaglets? It really is such a blessing to see them so up close and personal going about their daily chores  Thanks for the appreciative remarks Sandie. I really can't do what many on this forum like Carole, Jann, Pat and others do with their video captures. It really is a labor of love from all those who do those. Thanks for Eagleland too every morning Carole. It is always great to see all the nests first thing when I log on here

Penny, bravo on your fantastic screen shots of the Norfolk family. Regarding the whoopers, I think they were just having fun (like teenagers) in the dancing video, since they are still too young to mate. However, with the mature adults, it is a mating dance. |

Flooding is a very serious hazard every Spring in Manitoba too. We have a huge diversion channel affectionately known as Duff's ditch (for a former Premier of Manitoba who insisted it be built) surrounding Winnipeg which when the floodgates open fills up quite quickly. Unfortunately other towns like Selkirk to the north of us experience worse flooding when the city has to do that to save our homes The other big issue is sewer backup into houses because there is so much water in the system. We have a back up valve which has saved us from many horrible situations. I hope it works when and if it needs to because we will still be here for the worst of the snow melt. ![]() The Red River flows north into Manitoba from the Dakota's so we get all their water too  |

That was such a beautiful video of the Norfork eagles. I didn't know that they would actually feed each other - just bring food. And the dancing woopers were beautiful and fun to watch as well. Thanks Christine and Carole for posting. Here is a link to the USGS.gov volcano cam for Mt. Redoubt if anyone is interested: http://volcanoes.usgs.gov/avo/webcam/redoubt-2.jpg |

You know you're a certified eagleholic when you have managed to get all three nests (PH, TH, WE) up on your desktop at the same time as well as have room for your work work. It's almost time.

Christine - The Norfolk video is a happy tear-jerker. It astounds me how the eagles protect and feed one another............humans can learn a lot from wildlife behaviour.

Christine, thanks for posting the sweet video of the Norfolk pair. Guess she just wouldn't leave her chicks so he brought dinner to her. So happy for this pair that they didn't have all the drama like last year. Hope all goes well for them. Sandie and Petra, the sculptors are so talented, such a shame that the sculptures would have been washed away. |

Pooh Oklahoma eagle pair! We are getting that storm too and the wind is terrible! Tonight they are expecting thunderstorms, high winds and hail! Does anyone know when the TH eggs should hatch? Just wondering. Won't be much longer!!!! |

Yesterday, Goose (DH) and I visited the nests we found a few weeks ago in the Susquehannock State Park area. We were hoping to see parents feeding their newly hatched chicks but all momma eagle did was sit firmly on her nest. She wouldn't even let Dad have a peek so we can only assume there is a chick or two on the nest. They have been sitting on this nest for over forty days now. Here's a link to a slideshow with a few pictures DH took. ![]() http://s658.photobucket.com/albums/uu304/G...mview=slideshow We sat on the bank of the Susquehanna River directly across from the nest and watched for more than an hour. The male flew in and delivered fluff. We were hoping for a fish delivery. |
