Awesome eagle nests Karen. Where was the one in the hydro transmission tower? That one might be dangerous for fledgling juvies, let alone the parents, if they land in the wrong spot :8O:

Loved the sand sculptures too Sandie :)^ Imagine all that work and they won't survive
I especially liked the one with the birds (parrots?) near the end.

Nice of you to post all that into a slideshow Peetie :ok:

And it wasn't a duck, it was a sandpiper!  Do you know where Hemet is?  It's east towards the mts.!  Not near an ocean where I thought sandpipers lived.

Oops - so it is, Karen! It sounds like I'm not the only confused bird in this picture though - what the heck is a sandpiper doing out in the desert anyway???

Welcome to all our newcomers! Pretty soon you can join us in greeting some feathered newcomers out on the Channel Islands!!! :^: :^:

I hope Barb & Ann and Harpo & Gary are having fun on Catalina. Happy eagle watching on your tours! :soar: :soar: :soar:

Hornby egg in view during a parent switch. For myself and several other forum members these were our first webcam eagles. <3

Looks like those Sand Sculptures are from Harrison Hot Springs here in BC.

The sculptors also come every year to Parksville ... about 30 minutes away from us.

Went up to watch them work and start on their designs one year ... then back to see the finished work and to vote on them.

Just amazing work.

Thanks for sharing them here.

Found the perfect graphic in Photobucket. Blessings to all the eagles and their chicks for a safe and successful nesting season.

The orchid slide show that you posted last night Sheila was just beautiful. I saw a local program about a Santa Barbara company that specializes in orchid growing. That place was huge...they mentioned the orchid show on the program. Wish I could have been there in person to see it...now I almost feel like I was there :D :)^
