Have I missed something? Haven't seen a post by Cricket in a few days - is everything alright? |

Peppermint, I am not sure whether they "follow the leader" or not. They do have a pecking order. I just don't know who the leader is in that Chass group, off the top of my head. Whoopers generally travel in small groups, such as a family, or a small group of unattached birds. They don't travel in large flocks the way the sandhills do. I think their hormones or instinct just tell them to go when the conditions are right. They need the thermals to travel. They start soaring on the thermals and then just keep going. Hope this helps. |

lau...I, too, noticed that Cricket hadn't been on the Forum for a couple of weeks, although, I did notice she had logged on a few times, just not posting. Peetie...not much longer and you shall soon have Sjimmie home. Jillers...Love the two photos from a day or two ago...one of you on your bike and the other with you on the motorcycle...you look like you are having so much fun. Chiquita |

Thanks Chiquita! Yes, I did have a lot of fun, even living day to day with no phone, electricity only part of a day, no TV (occasional videos in the gathering room), mail only when the plane came (once a week or less!) & no newspaper! I have some lasting friendships from that time of people from all over the world & compassion for the Sudanese people, many of whom are suffering, especially in the Darfur area. |

Sandie: bookkeepers that do payrolls have deadlines most people don't even know about. |
