I'm getting pretty good at spotting Redtails sitting in their trees and almost always see one or two going back and forth to work.

Wow! Where do they work???? rofl :Hugs:

rofl rofl rofl You brat!

At the nearby fish processing plant perhaps as quality control/taste testers? rofl

Or as rodent control specialists for the department of public health in the poor neighborhoods to control rodents? rofl

George!!!!! Real groaners!!!!!!! (luv groaners). :<::

Jill, it is my understanding that the eight Olympic pandas were sent from the Beijing Zoo to Bifengxia Base but that none have been returned to Wolong itself.  Wolong will not be ready for the pandas to be returned until 2012.

Well then they showed them at another place & called it Wolong! :P Because they made you think the picture they were showing of the pandas was of them back at Wolong. Oh well! The news has been known to be wrong before & they will be wrong again! :P

Especially right after the earthquake last May, I found so much of the news being reported to be confusing. Very contradictory. So when I was finally able to get through to Wolong, I would email my friends there and ask them what was really going on, and that's where I would get my news.

There was an episode of Untamed and Uncut on Animal Planet a couple of weeks ago that had a segment about the pandas at Wolong during the earthquake. They had some pretty incredible footage of one of the mountains exploding and coming down on the research center and the pandas trying to escape. This segment reported that Wolong had already been rebuilt and the pandas had been returned. Simply not true. They are going to rebuild the research center in Gengda Town, and they are saying now that it won't be ready until 2012.

I think some of the confusion comes from them loosely using the name "Wolong." It is Wolong's program, so Wolong is the "umbrella." I have found that many times when they are talking about the pandas, they refer to several of the bases as being Wolong, which I think just means that they are part of Wolong's program. And quite honestly, and not to speak stereotypically . . . things really do get lost in translation in China.
