<::: PLEASE READ

Egg-citing News! The TH nest of .. K-81/m & K-82/f now has a chick :^: on the nest as well as an egg.

The PH nest of .. K-10/m & K-26/f .. has two eggs.

The WE nest of .. K-01/m & Wray/f .. has one egg for sure ... maybe even two!

Newcomers to NW are sometimes a little nervous in making their first few posts. They may be unsure what observations are required ... and how to word them.

Hopefully the following will help them ... and also assist the biologists to find their information quickly

Please post the following observations ONLY .. in red .. so they stand out ...

PARENT SWITCH ~ Time? Who came in? Who left?

EGG/s ROLLED? ~ Time?

*PREY? ~ Time? Type of prey deliveries?

*Additional information required now there is a chick on a nest. (This may be a little difficult .. re the type of prey. We can certainly state the time of arrival ... and if it is bird or fish.)

.... For Each Nest ... We know you all will do your best.

All other stuff ( incubating and positions) ... while important too.

Can be done in black .. or even blue!
:P

Important to know the NEST you are observing .. so please put the Initials at the start of your post.

These nests are all in California ... so it's PDT ... on this coast.

So ... as an example for a switch ... your post would read

TH ... Switch at 10:30am .. K-81 arrived and K-82 left .. Eggs Rolled ... K-81 now incubating at 3

As an example for type of prey ...

TH ... 2:00pm .. Fish brought in by K-82

Have fun with it folks ... we are here to help yes ... but also to enjoy the experience of watching all the happenings on the nests ... and learn more about these magnificent birds ... through the wonder of the Nest Cams.

TH - Camera popped on to show incubating eagle (-82?) facing the rear, with white fluff or feathers scattered over its back. Fluff tossing?

PH - Eagle rises and flis away at 6:34am.

Ed.: Eagle lands from same direction as the departure--don't know if it's the same eagle or not. No calling.

TH - Switch - K82 flies off the front and K81 does a beautiful fly in from behind the nest. The chick was moving its head around quite a bit! K81 is now snuggling into incubation position

TH - K81 & K82 may have looked confused yesterday, but that didn't last long. They've settled right in to rolling the egg and caring for the chicklet. The fuzzy little grey head bobbing all over as Dad tucks fluff all around. Dad (aka K81) settles back down on the egg and chicklet facing 1.
