George, thanks for the up close look at the Norfolk eaglets. What adorable little chicklets they are! At one point, the little one in the front almost looked like an alien. |

Joanie, thank you, I appreciate your comment about the cranes. I got an email from MSRP about the restoration of the Brookhurst Marsh wetlands at Huntington Beach. The article also mentioned the Bolsa Chica wetlands. Likely you received the same message. A special place

Cheryl I'm close to these wetlands and am very interested in learning about their restoration. Can you send me the info or a link to it? THX! I never thought I'd become a craniak but reading your posts has turned me into one! They are such beautiful birds and the annual migration is such an undertaking. Amazing and wonderful creatures. ![]() Lala your photos constantly amaze me, you are so gifted. Thanks for sharing your gift! Peetie your necklace is really pretty. Congrats on getting it!

Some of the other cool things that was shared at the Cruzer's parties was a 4 page identification chart on all the eagles of the Channel Islands..where they were fostered, mates, dates and current locations..scanning all of California..... I have already used this two or three times... similar to what Pat put together online... so handy to have.. thanks Bette... ... and Jann handed out a sheet of pre-printed IWS business cards, ready to print out and cut up.. I printed mine out on photo paper so the eagle pictures on the 'card' looked like real pictures... she designed it to print on 'business card stock" that is perforated. I have already utilized this as well... she also passed out some "rock-ing" candy bars and some cool ball point pens... It is amazing what Cruzers can come up with for the 'take-home goodie bag' |

You're sooo welcome - I do thank you for introducing me to these fascinating creatures and their amazing story! I read the MSRP Newsletter this morning with particular interest ... it encapulates some of the history of the area and the quest to return it to something much closer to its 'original' state... though only a microcosm of 180 acres left of the original native 3,000 acres of wetlands ... I will no doubt 'snag' some of the cogent points for one of my Marina Newsletters - many of our boaters are not 'locals' and travel from some distance (including out of state) to recreate at the ocean and are mostly unaware of what has led to them being able to enjoy the pristine waters in this Federally protected ecological reserve where they moor their boats. I'm glad you got to spend just a bit of time there! I'll try to take more pictures of our resident and visitor birds to share - I know Gary/ES snapped some last week of a G.B.Heron that lives/hunts on our 'B' Dock. |

Summer, did I hear that you cancelled Yolanda's??? Hope that is a mistake.... When you talked with George about getting into your jammies and watching TV I felt the same way... it really got cold here this afternoon and I have been freezing but not cold enough to turn heater on... maybe just another fire in the fireplace will do the trick... I have tons of firewood thanks to my lumberjack family and the new log-spliter that my DH and DS bought each other for their birthdays.... |

Hi ER~ I'm doing well, mom is stable, and has a good appetite, so that's doing well with her, and I am unable to do a weekday get together, but we will see next week what's up. Not sure about my weekend either.
