wow what a story of your dad......and neurenberg is pretty far over the border in germany...

east germany.....

actually not east but southern in Bavaria where the NSDAP had its imfamous party rallies as depicted by Lenni Riefenstahl in her propoganda film "Triumph of the Will". If my european geography is correct, it is slightly north and west of Munchen er Munich hence why it was in the American Zone and not the Russian Zone in the eastern half of germany where the GDR was

huh ??? i watch the map and it was east (middle)

hahahha my parents are always go with vacation to Bavaria south of Munich....called Oberstdorf where they've ski jump every new yearsday....

i'm gonna watch again...

you're right George.....it's in the neighborhood of Wurtzburg too..

tsjechic republic border....

they've every year a big "Kristkindlmarkt" or great christmas market....

I was just looking at the Estonian Sea Eagle camera and am astounded how tack sharp thier feed is for we eagle voyeurs. every time i look at that camera i turn green with envy that our favorite three are not as good.

Funny how the white tailed sea eagle does resemble a juvie Bald Eagle but then they are cousins so there has to be some family resemblance i guess rofl

as they would say in german! I forgot nuremburg as along the river Danube which is near the Czech border. It was rather interesting to see how the 4 Allied powers cut up germany into the various occupation zones for "political reasons" as well as for logistical reasons. USA zone included the Port Cities of Bremerhaven and Bremen along the north sea.

The French zone was along the franco-german border including the coal rich Saar region. In fact anti german sentiment was so strong that german made items were restricted for import into France in the early post war period. The reason I know of this is that i have seen specially marked Leica Camera Bodies "Monte'e en Saare" to get around this restriction. These are rather rare. "monte'e en Sarre" means made in the saar. So they were able to be sent into france

Here's the update from the Blackwater eagle cam web log. You may want to check out the views from the two Finnish osprey cams.
Also a good closeup shot of an eaglet at one month of age. Lots of other good information too.

Good morning.

Beautiful necklace Peetie!

George - You can really feel the movement of the trees on the white tailed eagle cam. Lots of interesting stuff on that site. Saved the link.

Have a great day!

Yahoo, it's finally light at the hummingbird nest and Goober is still sitting on the nest. Roza fledged yesterday. Here's the Youtube version of her lift off if you missed it yesterday.
