Okay Peeps, so much to comment on and so little time :<:: Where does it all go anyway???? I've been cl@#%ning today...somebody has to do it...plus laundry and am heading out the door soon....I feel a bit like a whirling top or something. Not enough time to even watch all the cams

Here's a little Squish fix from yesterday....2 videos of his first excursions to the 'outside' world.

cdn-cdn...What a wonderful story about the cranes...so nicely written...their final lift off north...how do they know exactly when to go? such a mystery!!!

Enjoyed the photos of the Johnny-Jump-Ups (at least that's what we called them when I was a kid...smaller that a viola and a pansy)...such cute little faces. They'd grow wild in our yard. I have two pots of violas on the bedroom patio so when I open the shutters in the morning, there they are to greet me each day.

George, pretty pansy pictures and colours. They aren't out in the stores here yet, and I want some!

Carole, safe trip to you and Alan.

Laurie, glad things are working out with your new boss. Amazing about the eagle sighting. So fortunate the mother and unborn baby are both OK.

Deb, so brave of Whitley's family to come forward and tell their story in order to stop others from having an accident like that. Glad Whitley is progressing so well.

The "Eagle Girls Gone Wild" jokes are cracking me up.

Robin, Carole, Kathie, and Chiquita, I agree, the whooper story is really a tear-jerker, so bittersweet. The author really captured the mood with her outstanding writing.

Ditto on that. I just had to figure, someone beat me to the tears.
Lucky though, I have a tissue box handy today.

Trish, sorry you're not feeling well. Hope the "bug" goes away soon. Good that you're taking care of yourself. Hey, did you ever post pix of the owl banding you were fortunate enough to participate in on Sunday?

Well, as a matter of fact, no Miss SaraOH, I have not posted about that yet.
I guess now seems like a perfect opportunity.

Let me share with you my Sunday adventure. I was invited to go to Starr Ranch for the barn owlet banding, and in addition I was treated to a 3 hour tour, a 3 hour tour, of Starr Ranch on a barn owl box banding adventure where we banded another 6 from a box in a remote part of the ranch. We were also searching for GHOW nests to foster 2 orphans into.

Here is my YouTube video of the days events.

Thanks for asking SaraOH :D

Starr Ranch Barn Owl Banding Day

Edit~Last frame of video is a GHOW sitting in a tree. They said that wouldn't be normal unless there were chicks nearby for it to be out in the open during the day. I hope they found a place to foster the orphans.

Edit Edit~The GHOW orphans were from Dr Weldy

Jill, I'm really enjoying your travelogue. :ok:

Thanks Robin, I'm glad you're enjoying them! I try to scan some slides when I find some time in the evening. Then I have to resize them, then put them in photobucket! Takes time! I need more time! :P These next 3 nights I probably won't find any time to scan. Helping with a Traffic Solutions event after work, then visit a Model A Ford club member in the hospital. Tomorrow night is our club meeting & Thur. is our church Bible study. Today has been a bit stressful at work as our dot matrix printer is messed up big time. By today my statements should be in the mail & they're not even printed yet! :hair: :hair: :hair:
