Momkat,

I've had two of my orchids do this - produce a new plant. I let mine grow two leaves and two roots, then cut it off and pot it. One made it, one did not. Try it, and good luck. The mother plant will not be harmed, and who knows - you may have another orchid plant.

(First time "quoting", I hope it works.)

This is what I would do, also...if it grows a root or two, I'd cut it below the leaf and try potting it. Otherwise, I'd think it would get too top heavy. I hope to be making a trip to the orchid grower down the road in a couple of weeks when Cumbrians are here and I'll try to remember to ask them about this when I'm there.

How come I'm never in the vicinity when chocolate mint anythings are given away??? :(

I sure wish I could go to the symposium at Channel Islands today, but that dreaded four letter word is keeping me here at my desk.

Katie is my niece (her dad is my brother)

I can definitely see the family resemblance! I am glad to hear that Whitley is doing better despite the challenges to the family.

Butt seriously, thank you, no I haven't. Hence the reason I was "behind" the chair...rofl rofl

And seriously, glad you like the pic. It was nice to get one with mom feeling good in it so I can share.

Your face looked thinner. (Maybe just a "good" camera. I want one of those  )

Anyway, good to have you back and posting, and I am thrilled for your mom.

Jann, Thanks for posting those two videos. :><:
Although I can't look at them right now, I do remember them when they were recorded. I am sure they are exactly what I need to show my co-workers at my afternoon job.
I did not want to try and explain from memory. I need to update my cheat sheet of videos that I started last winter also. I've got post-it notes all over it.

A quick few minutes to chat with you all.

Yesterday my DH was on the scene of a pretty serious head on collision. One of the volunteers all of a sudden shouted out "EAGLE", everyone looked and was treated to an eagle flying by. DH said he swears it was only 50 ft away. He said it was the most amazing thing he had ever seen. DH thinks that one of the state troopers on scene took some pictures. I'll be contacting him later to see if he'll share the pictures with me. DH said the eagle Just soar over them for a long time. The area where the car accident happend is noted for Eagles hanging out in the field. I'm thinking there's a nest there somewhere. A good hunting field and a little pond across the way. DH was really excited about it.

Carole - Hope you have a safe journey home. Thanks for sharing your pond critters with us. It's been so much fun.

Trish, Mom looks really good, and so do you. Hope you feel better soon. Have you ever tried Zycaim?? It worked really well for me a few weeks ago.

I've been lurking mostly this week. Not feeling very chatty.

First week with new boss is going very well.
