Hi Peeps - Am on a computer in the lobby of a hotel in Macon, GA. Driving started out fine until we ran into torrential rain in northern Florida where visibility was almost nil but DH kept on going. It eventually tapered off but I was a wreck while he was driving.

Thanks to all of you for your wishes of a safe trip, they sure worked today.

Congrats to all Milestone posters.

GO CRANES GO - GODSPEED ON YOUR JOURNEY NORTH :X:

Happy Birthday Sasha, 6 years old and getting more beautiful every day. :bday: :bday:

Will check in again tomorrow........ :}^

rofl Marti - thoroughly enjoyed that clip! We do take so much for granted, don't we?

"Amazing" is the word for that crane story Sara! I loved that it had a happy ending (if anybody was afraid to read it!).

Harpo...Day 4 slideshow..."Miramar Way"...Well, if I had known, I'd have been up on the roof jumping up and down waving furiously so you could see me!!! Nearly passed by my home!!!

Eleven college applications were sent and all the responses to granddaughter are now in...decisions, decisions, decisions...she wants to go AWAY...East coast away.. colleges here on the West coast were favorable in their responses...GW made a fine offer and so did John's Hopkins. Oh, to be young and on your way...not so much for me...I will miss her terribly.

Hi Rebecca :}^ we're all anxiously awaiting the arrival of all the chicks - even those we can't see online! :^: :^:

yes it's been grey here all day and now starting to have light rain! oh well!

Carole - are youo an eagleholic or what ! rofl when I was in OH - there was a guy playing solitaire on the hotel 'puter - I wanted to bop him in the head and let him know there were more important things to do with a computer like :<<>>: :soar: :<::

Oh Chiquita - that would have been cool - we could have made time to stop! That's why I posted our general itinerary - guess I should have said what road too :( oh well - there's always next year :D

good luck to your granddaughter - not an easy decision that's for sure!

Sara, what a feel good story about the sandhill crane. I got choked up at the part where her mate called to her. <3

Here's the video of Goober fledging.

Eaglehandler, thanks for posting the breakfast at Norfolk video. I missed it this morning. The Norfolk triplets are so well-behaved as they patiently wait their turn when being fed instead of bopping one another on the head. I guess that is because food has been so plentiful on this nest. I can't wait for the PH twins to arrive. I hope they will be as nice to one another. :^: :^:
