Oh My! We all join you in the sadness of the failed Sauces nest! Just re-inforces again Nature gives us no guarantees. Possibly the eggs were just not fertile--do you take the eggs to make a determination? Hopefully, this pair will try again as we have seen on other nests around the country. The photos of their nest and of PH are beautiful! They both look like wonderful thrones ---especially PH as K10 - The Master Builder does such diligent work  K26 did a lot more work on the nest this year though, as we all watched them during the Nestorations. Thank you your hard work and always, always for your much anticipated and rewarding UPDATES each week. ![]() OOPS--How could I forget---A64 is looking soooo good---ah, a handsome blonde eagle dude

What a great report. So excited to see the picture of Spirit! He looks wonderful and healthy! Too bad about the Sauces pair. These cams have really shown me what a miracle it is to see every eagle I see flying in the sky. They face so much! Thank you so much for sharing your eagles with the world and for the weekly reports. Have a safe week! |

So encouraging to see "Spirit" doing so well as almost a year old! After what he went through, being tossed out of the nest and all the trauma that followed, it's no wonder he's turned "blonde" or "gray" so early. Thanks for a great report, even though sad about the Sauces pair nest failing again.

I have not posted in awhile, been super busy, but have been checking in to see updates, and this I have to say is a good one for Spirit (A64). The Sauces Pair are still young and will have time on their hands. My prayers to all our beloved Bald Eagles, and a heap of gratitude to the IWS crew!!!

Thanks for the great update and pics - glad to see A-64 is doing so well and has passed the 1 year mark - hopefully the Sauces pair will lay eggs next season if not this one - guess we won't know about the Yellow Banks pair yet. |

Was there a necropsy done or any evidence indicating why he died? I've looked through the message boards but not enough, for I have failed to find any reference. thanks, Betsy |

BetsyR .... The sad news about Skye/A-65 was in the August 13/08 - Santa Cruz Island Update ... now known as the Northern Channel Islands Updates. We were informed by Cedrick ... one of the rescuers at the nest on May 19th ... that he had found Skye entangled in Giant Kelp. Not sure if you are aware that we have an Eagles Over The Rainbow Bridge Thread ... in Eagle Media ... AEATT ... a Pinned/Closed thread at the top. ... and here is .. Skye's Entry |
