Yes, Barb it's sad. Sad times to have joy, last month over 663,000 jobs were lost. Lost jobs = lost homes. |

A cache is an ongoing thing - there to be found over and over by geo cachers! Joanie can certainly point it out to eagle visitors but it really is reserved for registered geocachers who when they find it - will write in the log in the container and then they will go online to post their finds! we have our own website recording our finds (which needs updating since we've been to CA) and we have an account with the geo web site! TeamHarpo.com - you can see our notes/logs/photos! SO if you visit the cache - please leave it exactly where you found it and do not write on the log or put anything in it unless you are registered and actually going to log it and participate in caching - it is a kind of sport AND lots of fun! Ask MIB/ED and LALA and Joanie/Manu! LOL |

Sorry to hear your DH lost his job, but it's good that you were prepared for it Rebecca. So many aren't, which makes it so much harder. I pray he finds a new job at just the right time. |

Hedi, Summer, Iggle .... Deb and Gary are the 'Masters' at this - have their own website for Team Harpo! I also did a bit of 'research' as I wanted to put a small 'blurb' in my Marina Newsletter this month about it - many of our boaters already have hand-held GPS units so this is another way to use them for family fun! Wikipedia had lots of info about the different types of caches from the simple to the complex - some (like this one) they simply write their identifier (such as Team Harpo) and date and then go to the website and enter their find. Some, as you may have seen include 'travel bugs' that are removed and then taken to a new location and so on... or small 'treasures' can be left in exchange for another. When we were in Catalina with Gary and Deb last week they completed a multi-part 'puzzle' where they had to go to a location and come up with an 'answer' to a question and the answer was a number (example = how many stools at the palapas at the restaurant at Descanso except I think their clue was a latitude and longitude, NOT 'the restaurant at Descanso') and then if they did the first 4 parts correctly and had the right answers, those numbers would result in a final GPS Coordinate leading them to the last piece of the puzzle where they would leave their mark at the cache... hope I didn't make it sound overly complex ... it was fun to observe and we would like to try it! Here's a picture at them doing their 'homework' by entering the 'clues' to find the final location. What a setting, huh? Gorgeous!!

I'm so sorry. I know so many who have had their hours cut or have lost their jobs. I hope when he's ready, the job market is on the upswing.

Linda, Sasha is just adorable with her little 'Cache'? I think that's what you call what she has in the case. And Deb, yes a great place to do your homework. Thanks so much both of you, it sounds really fun. Anything else you guys want to post would rock! I'm fascinated. |

She knew a bit more than me. So, she suggested I ask Deb (Harpo) for the scoop.
