Just catching up on last night's chat. I had the nests on while we watched "Slumdog Millionaire" last night, but no chatting! ![]() Karen and Naturelvr, I was sorry to read about the job losses in your families. This economy has been so hard on people. I know there are others in the forum who also have family members in that situation. I do hope the economy gets turned around again soon. Karen, you are an angel to have offered your home to your family the way you have. Hang in there. Karen/SoCalLady, what a super video of the new baby elephant at the Columbus Zoo. The mother kept swinging her trunk gently around the baby, circling it with love and caring. I'll have to bookmark the website for future news. |

Here is a shot from one of the german stork nest cameras showing momma stork atop her ?? eggs. Unlike the Nuremburg area nest cam, she appears to be out more in the open and not atop some roof or chimney![]() edited: Just looked for where this nest is located. It is in Muhle Germany which is located between Munich Germany and Innsbruk Austria |

Good morning! Thanks to Harpo516 (Deb) for the information on what the eaglets are fed. That was very informative for me. Also the picture of the eaglet is nice. Deanna :soar: :soar: :soar: :soar: |

vesuvius56 when I first did Eaglepedia - it was random postings - not necessarily in conjunction with nesting activity - now that I've kind of retired from those daily posts - I can revisit earlier posts and give info as to what we might be seeing on the nest! I do have some new info and sooner or later will post some of that too! |

Wow, Penny, those are awesome pictures of the Norfolk Eagles. Thanks for posting them. Lunch is being served at the Norfolk nest right now. Definitely fish for lunch. Have you ever noticed that you can see people walking in the background behind the nest through the trees? Boy would I love to visit the gardens and take that walk right behind this nest. Anyone ever been there? |

HAPPY BIRTHDAY SMILEY 4567 & MELROSE 2 - HOPE YOU HAVE A SUPER, SUPER GREAT DAY OF CELEBRATING YOUR SPECIAL DAY! Harpo - Never too many slideshows of your CA and Catalina adventures - enjoying them all. Karen & Nature - So sorry to hear about the job losses in your family and pay cuts as well - hoping they are all able to find work very soon - Karen you have a very big, big heart - I know I wouldn't be able to let my kids go homeless either - your home is going to be a very busy place with lots of too.Carole - Thanks for the pics from Eagleland - parents and chicks look like they are doing well. Chery - Thanks for the Whooper update - sure appreciate they dedicated folks who guide the cranes. Penny - Thanks for the video of Mommy Monster and XI Lan - Don't think Squish wants as much cuddling any more - would rather explore on his own. Was busy at the SB Zoo yesterday along with alot of other volunteers for Zoo-to-Do - it's held once a year and it's to help out with sprucing and planting new plants and trees - this year we all helped plant new plants right outside the new condor exhibit and around the new restaurant building - hundreds of plants - as a reward we received a Zoo-to-Do T-shirt, two guest passes and one healthy portion of a BBQ with choice of chicken or beef - quite a spread. Of course I talked about the eagles to who ever was around - one young man from Israel (has been here a year) is attending SBCC and will soon transfer to UCSB - He wanted to know how to get a summer job working on Catalina or the other islands - I gave him the web site and Peter's name - he was very excited about the possibility - hope it works out for him. DH - went to Home Improvement the other day and what did he come home with - a mouse pad with the head of a bald eagle on it - I have looked at the Office supply places, not finding one - never would have thought of Home Improvement. Looking forward to Yolanda's tonight and seeing Ozzie again and meeting Elaine and Margie for the 1st time and seeing all the wonderful Cruzers I have gotten to know and love - I know you are all wonderful because I am able to talk my DH, Roger into coming along too - he may be quiet but he is observant - he doesn't spend time on the forum like me, but he will always look at a video or pics that "I think" he needs to see. |

Karen...So sorry to hear about those in your family that have lost their jobs and those that have had their pay cut. Same here...DS lost his job last June...Lightning Director for a major theatre...had been there 15 years...loved the job, theatre and those he worked with. Three days later SIL lost his job...head of a department with a hospital...had been there 13 years. DIL lost her job in retail 4 months ago. Luckily, SIL found work a couple of months ago doing pretty much what he had been doing before only closer to home now but without as much pay...at least it is a job. I worry about DS as all entertainment venues are hurting. Chiquita |

I am posting this message to ask that a candle be lighted for a big Raptor fan buy the Name of Froona who was from Holland who passed away from severe respiratory problems. She was on life support until she passed this past saturday night. For those familar with the BCAW community , Froona was the go to gal for any and everything related to the Perigrine Falcon. She was the namesake for one of thier boards titled "Froona's Corner". A very dedicated and well informed Moderator/jane of all trades. Just like some of us here that we all know. |
