Just another note on our GeoCaching Adventure with Team Harpo on Catalina last week.... try as we might, they wouldn't give up the co-ordinates to us 'muggles'... even under threat by Manu with a WWI vintage machine gun! Now we're officially 'registered' members and have signed up for the updates to the Peter's Sacred Door Cache so I will be alerted to any activity even it if happens during hours the office is closed.

Thanks, GEORGE, for letting us know about a fallen comrade and to Harpo, too, for the quick link to the Cruzr Candle to pay our respects.

I want everyone to know that the house I just bought was vacant and NOT a foreclosure and was bought as an investment and the previous owner retired and moved to Colorado. We are very thrilled. I too am sad for the people who have lost their homes but that is something I didn't cause. |

Last weekend when I went to my Pilates class, I noticed this nest being built by a Raven pair a couple of doors down. I found this to just look so darn funny! Normally, it's the Sparrow and Finches that seems to find these spots for their nests...look how huge this is! Not nearly as huge as our Eagles, but in a strip mall that could be Anywhere, USA, I thought this was a sight you'd enjoy...![]() ![]() ![]() |

(Sorry those pictures were so BIG!) This one is for Jillers. From my recent trip to CA. A visit to the Dairy Unit at Cal Poly was fun due to the newborn calves. Here's a cutie for you! ![]() |

Andrea, that is funny. Definitely not something one sees every day. You'll have to keep us posted on it's progress.....especially once there are any sightings of chicks in the nest.

Andrea - Cute nest location. When we were in Macon, Ga. a few days ago, the hotel we were staying in had nests everywhere........trees, underneath drain gutters, balconies, and on the sign over the entrance. The funny thing was there was a 3 foot tall owl statue on the roof to scare the birds away I don't think it worked, they figured it out.

Joanie & Deb - Thanks so much for all the geo-caching information. I've studiously tried to avoid learning too much about it, being very addiction prone. I figured it might be a good thing to stay away from, but it really does sound like so much fun! What a sweet picture of baby Star this morning - awwwwww! I know that it is a major milestone in the eagle restoration project to not have to foster the chicks any more, but it breaks my heart that I will not get to be up close & personal with any little bobbleheads on my tour. Carole - Thanks, as always, for the eagleland and Squish updates! BTW - I love your little hatchling in your signature! I so seldom log on at home that I hadn't seen him so have no idea how long he may have been there!Cheryl - So glad to hear the cranes are doing well! Thank you for this look into their lives.... WHOOP, WHOOP AND AWAY!!!!! |
