Yes that is true and i do have sympathy for those responsible borrowers who through no fault of their own are unable to keep their homes. I only have a problem in those who were too greedy and bought into the frenzy as the home values soared who thought that there wouldnt be an end to the bubble. Remember the dot com stock craze frenzy of day traders? I also object to the bankers who gave loans to those who by most reasonable standards showed that a significant portion of their monthly salary would be the mortage payment without concern for other necessities. Also the politicians who mandated that loans be given to those who likely would not be given a loan as they would be more of a risk for any number of reasons. As it shows there is enough blame to go around and its not only the greedy banks to blame it ultimately falls upon the borrower to know upfront how much they can reasonably afford and expect to pay back each month. responsible lending+responsible borrowers=stability for both |

karen what super flower photos - wow yes, my dd had a change of jobs and for over a year, could only get a job that amounted to 18-20 hrs. a week - very rough for her but recently she landed a full time asst manager position but she's still in a hole which will take her some time to climb out of! my ds is a painter by trade and was laid off early last fall before the end of painting season and indoor jobs have been non-existent. folks aren't in any hurry right now to upgrade or paint or remodel....... he's still on lay off but it looks like he may be going back to some work time later this month these situations were entirely out of their control just like sooooo many others. it's sad ... my dd was so down for a long time - every interview she went on - there were 50 people or more sitting there too in the same boat ..... and of course they were only hiring 1 person......we all just have to pull together until we can come out on the other side!

This has nothing to do with Eagles but I didn't know about it and perhaps you don't either. Subject: Fwd: Microwaving Water A Must to read Please read and heed. Microwaving Water! A 26-year old man decided to have a cup of coffee. He took a cup of water and put it in the microwave to heat it up (something that he had done numerous times before). I am not sure how long he set the timer for, but he wanted to bring the water to a boil. When the timer shut the oven off, he removed the cup from the oven. As he looked into the cup, he noted that the! water was not boiling, but suddenly the water in the cup 'blew up' into his face. The cup remained intact until he threw it out of his hand, but all the water had flown out into his face due to the build up of energy. His whole face is blistered and he has 1st and 2nd degree burns to his face which may leave scarring. He also may have lost partial sight in20his left eye. While at the hospital, the doctor who was atte nding to him stated that this is a fairly common occurrence and water (alone) should never be heated in a microwave oven. If water is heated in this manner, something should be placed in the cup to diffuse the energy such as a wooden stir stick, tea bag, etc.., (nothing metal). General Electric's Response: Thanks for contacting us, I will be happy to assist you. The e-mail that you received is correct. Microwaved water and other liquids do not always bubble when they reach the boiling point. They can actually get superheated and not bubble at all. The superheated liquid will bubble up out of the cup when it is moved or when something like a spoon or tea bag is put into it. To prev ent this from happening and causing injury, do not heat any liquid for more than two minutes per cup. After heating, let the cup stand in the microwave for thirty seconds! before moving it or adding anything into it. Here is what our local science teacher had to say on the matter: 'Thanks for the microwave warning. I have seen this happen before. It is caused by a phenomenon known as super heating. It can occur anytime water is heated and will particularly occur if the vessel that the water is heated in is new, or when heating a small amount of water (less than half a cup). What happens is that the water heats faster than the vapor bubbles can form.. If the cup is very new then it is unlikely to have small surface scratches inside it that provide a place for the bubbles to form. As the bubbles cannot form and release some of the heat has built up, the liquid does not boil, and the liquid continues to heat up well past its boiling poin t. What then usually happens is that the liquid is bumped or jarred, which is just enough of a shock to cause the bubbles to rapidly form and expel the hot liquid. The rapid formation of bubbles is also why a carbonated beverage spews when opened after having been shaken.' If you pass this on you could very well save someone from a lot of pain and suffering. All I can say is be careful. Cathie |

Have fun at Yolanda's everyone. I would have loved to join you, but the schedule just did not work for me on a Sunday. Great pix Karen. Those are beautiful flowers. Alison~ Beanie looks stylin on your new kayak!! Iggle and Summer~Great hiking shot! Sounds like you had a blast! Wow Sara~That is SOME eagle! I'm sure I missed a bunch of stuff I meant to comment on.... but really just popped in to post this.... We had a manicure today. I took mom out on the patio and did her nails, then painted them for her. She's not feeling too well, and only ate one GS cookie, but not every day is good lately. We make the best of our days though. ![]() |
