Way to go, Carole! Thank you for Eagleland, the Squish and okapi updates, your terrific nest observations and all your positive contributions in chat. Loved the hairdresser story, too. Congratulations on such a milestone post!

Peetie, I'm doing pretty good thanks. A ittle depressed. The weather here is really aweful. We haven't had any sunshine in about a week now and it's snowing today maybe a couple of inches today and tomorrow 2 - 4 inches of snow accummulation. I really want sunshine and flowers and stuff. But on a really good note, I had a Common Flicker in my yard this morning. I was almost late for work because I took the time to watch it. I was hoping to get a picture of it but as soon as I opened the door it flew off. How are you doing?? Are you seeing your social worker today?? How's S'jimmie and Alex doing?? |

Read everything on Chat and NO with a heavy heart of the loss of little Windy - am thankful for the few days of seeing his little wobbly head - so sad - Thank you Windy for sharing your brief life with us. Hopefully the second egg will hatch soon.Deb - So sorry now we didn't get you to In-n-Out Burger while you were here in SB - we weren't anywhere close to it in our drive around SB - but glad to hear you finally got to one on your way to LAX - here's another idea for your next visit to CA - search for their web site to find the "secret menu" that is not listed on their regular menu - some of the sites have pics and others description of a 2 x 3 or 2 x 3 or 2 x 4 or Flying Dutchman, etc., etc., etc.. You can print out this menu and order any of these from any In-n-Out Burger - adds to the fun. Am loving your CA trip and now the caching - WOW - what places the find to hide them and the different sizes - quite a wonderful game. HAPPY BELATED BIRTHDAY CAROL/POTTYSHED & JAIMEN - HOPE YOU BOTH HAD A VERY SPECIAL DAY ON YOUR SPECIAL DAY! Thanks to both Carole and Penny for their many pics and videos of Squish and Monster Mom - just love everyone. Carole - your Eagleland pics are a wonderful way to start the day - glad to see so many nests are successful this year all over the country. So happy the eagle population keeps on growing. BBL |

Since we are missing Carole's pond critters... And we all need a smile for the day, here is a short video that may help. Ducks on Ice (turn up the sound)

I'm glad all the kitties are getting along and playing together. DH and I have been letting the little black cat that Coleman watches out the window in the house from time to time. At first Coleman would hiss and growl at the black cat now Coleman trys to be friendly with it, now the black cat growls and hisses and slaps my Coleman. So I don't think it's working out for them to be friends. I may try a few more times to see if they can get along. Good luck with the Social Worker and the Dr. for Meds, Peetie. I hope they help you feel better soon. |

Marti - That video was hysterical, the ducks are better at maneuvering than some of the drivers we have here when it is icy.

PANDA UPDATE Monday, April 6 You know it’s springtime in Atlanta when the dogwoods are in bloom, Grant Park is full of people enjoying the sunshine, and panda cubs are attacking shrubs. Since Xi Lan has been outside, he has found two new toys in the form of bushes. He likes to climb the larger of the two, working on his balance as it sways slightly in the wind. The smaller one is a bit more springy and right in front of the public glass window. Saturday, Xi Lan took a running start at it, pouncing at it with little cub ferocity. But the shrub retaliated by sending Xi Lan backwards onto his cub behind. Never fear, for Xi Lan came back at it with a right paw hook, and then took a bite out of its leaves. The battle was won, and Xi Lan celebrated his victory by heading into the dayroom for some nice air conditioning and a well-deserved nap. First he’s battling drain grates, and now shrubs? What’s next? Caroline Jones, Seasonal Carnivore Keeper Take that...silly tree!
