Whooper Update:Juvenile #826, part of the St. Marks' group of seven, was found badly injured by a landowner NE of Bloomington, Illinois. His leg is fractured in 10 places, cause unknown, but it was a "large force impact". He will be operated on today. Likely he will not be able to return to the wild, if he survives at all. :X: So he could use some positive healing thoughts today.

According to the landowner the remaining five juveniles in #826's group waited three days for him before moving on. The seventh juvenile, #813, the only one with a PTT transmitter, had separated from the group earlier in the migration and is presently in Iowa.

So happy to hear the 2nd egg of PH hatched and chick is doing so well - HOORAY for WE and TH having chicks and doing well too.

Haven't read all the forum input this am, but did see the beautiful trinket box Deb bought - just beautiful and the sad news of Whooper #826 - so very, very sad - do hope for healing even if can't be released in the wild again - poor little crane.

Have to go now.

:}^ Good Morning, and I am so happy ^"^ for K-26 and K-10.

I kept checking in to NO yesterday (while working, no less) as everyone of my co-workers relies on me for updates during tax season, when they can only watch out of the corners of their eyes. I was very hopeful, and only mentioned the sightings reported and captures I saw (did not have work time to look at videos; did that last night).

I assured everyone that the little ^"^ was there, and it would be a little while before it would be obvious to them. As an old veteran (since 6/06) I have learned what to look for, and my co-workers are brand new to the nest scenes, and need guidance and reassurance.

They will be so happy today.
