Windy and Hope, may God bless their sweet little souls. I was so looking forward to Easter Morning watching Hope. :'(

Easter is a day of renewal, I hope K26 & K10 have a new day filled with renewed love for one another.

Yes, George I know what you mean. If you would like to shoot birds professionally you could easily spend $10,000.00 on one lens and a camera body. Goose is crying. :'( He thinks they should make cameras smaller and less expensive and they should take a perfect picture every time you shoot.

25 years ago i obtained an 800mm apochromatic element f5.6 Apo Telyt R lens for my only leica slr the R4mot. My father was ranting at me for spending almost 4,000 for a used lens at the time. Today if i had to replace that lens ,it would now cost me over 20,000 to get new. This is one reason I dont lugg that lens around to alot of areas i shoot.

Most of the time its the camera that is the least expensive. The lens however can cost way more. Especially long length primes such as the 400 f4.

Yes, we did see several other photographers there with 600mm lenses and we did say hello. One of them guided us right to the nest. Most of them shot from the ground level and were using tripods for shooting. We opted to shoot from NATO tower with a fast shutter speed and hand held. It was a nice vantage point and we didn't want to be in the way of the professionals althougth they were all friendly. We were more intent on the eagles than being social. Goose has a Canon 40D. :clk:

Did you meet Duane? His pictures are so amazing - the goal I am striving for some day but I am far far away from that level. I also have the Canon 40D (and that's the body that Duane uses as well).

I was busy all morning, and out in the evening - thought I'd catch up on a couple of the nests before I went to bed. There was a feeding at the West End nest - the twins are just so cute! It was getting dark and a bit hazy, so they were hard to see - and at one point it almost looked as if there might be a third one. I didn't think there was - but thought I'd pop into NO to make sure. And that's when I heard the sad news from Pelican Harbor. :( :(

Farewell, Windy and Hope - you weren't here long - but you will be missed. <3

It has been another sad day on PH. I feel so bad for K-26 and K-10.
Farewell Windy and Hope.:boohoo:
Rest in peace, with Limuw and Skye. <3
You will always be in my heart.

I wasn't on my computer all day until early evening. I checked out PH & saw one of the eagles off the nest on the right. Well, after I kept seeing it that way, I went to NO to see what might be up & I was so sad to hear the news of the loss of the 2nd chick. :(

I could surely use one of those tonight...

Sad day on the PH nest....I would agree that we should name the chicks Windy and Hope as most forum members refered to them as such.

On the bright side....look at the 4 miracles we received this year... ^"^ ^"^ at TH and ^"^ ^"^ at WE...

And thank you so much for all your wonderful birthday wishes!

Cheryl, that card was really special...thank you so much <3

Beautiful pictures. I haven't commented before, but I have loved them all.
An amazing undertaking to scan them all, but well worth it.
The real benefit is being able to share them with all of us.
Thank you so much.

Oooohhhh Jill, what special photos.......they are gorgeous and I love the rainbow.

These photos are some how completely apropos considering all of the events today. They are on the one hand dark and lovely, juxtaposed with the ray of hope........
