have you noticed in your studies, if more females are hatched per year or more males?

would that ratio make a big difference in the repopulation or maintaining the population?

is it more likely for males to return to their home nesting area or is it about 50/50?

just wondering.......

For birds that we recorded the sex, there have been 31 males and 22 females fostered or hatched on Catalina since 2000. I think in the long run it is close to a 50:50 sex ratio. They also seem to have about the same return rate to their general natal area (within 200 miles of where they fledged).
