Good evening everyone LOVED Bailey the dead beagle! That is hysterical!! And all the pics today have been wonderful! Lala...your arrangement is absolutely gorgeous! I wish I had your talent!Well, the other day, Lindsay was sitting outside with her boyfriend, David, and she heard a tapping in the tree in front of our house. She saw a bird up there. Since she had her camera, she started taking pics but she didn't have her zoom lens on it. So we cropped the pics after we got them uploaded and this is what we discovered. ![]() ![]() We have never seen woodpeckers around here before! I looked it up online and its either a Nuttall's woodpecker or a ladderbacked. They are so similar looking that I am not sure which. But he's the cutest thing! And here is a recent pic of my Da Xiongmao kittyboy. He got in a fight...naughty boy! You can see scratches on his poor widdo nose ![]()

I visited the PH nest a little while ago just to see if 26 or 10 was around. It sure is diasppointing. I was looking forward to watching them. I have not seen a woodpecker in such a long time. I doubt they are anywhere around here. Maybe around the lake tho. |

Sheila, my husband is the photographer and yes, the lens is rather heavy, but he managed to shoot close to 2000 pictures this weekend without any trouble. The lens does not have IS but it is a prime lens and so far he is having a blast with it. We will post some pictures tomorrow.

Thanks for the info Mrs. Goose - I used to use a Tamron 28-300 and when showing some of the pics to a salesperson at Sammy's Camera - he said it was good but noticed some shakes - decided then I had better invest in a IS lens - shortly after getting the Canon 28-300 w/ IS, Tamron came out with a new lens 28-300 w/ IS and much lighter in wgt. than the Canon - hasn't come down in price yet though - except for the wgt. I love the Canon lens. |

Thanks Karen! 31 years ago those were taken, but I did get to Maui in 1994 for our honeymoon(I think those photos are all film, not slides). DH isn't interested in going to Hawaii now though. Oh well! I can travel there via my slides! Nite

MrsGoose, interesting picture to be taken this past weekend. I think that's the "courting clutch." Not sure why they do it. Maybe they're "sealing the deal." But I would think that it's late in the season to be courting. . . . |
