Cleaning Poem

I asked the Lord to tell me
Why my house is such a mess.
He asked if I'd been 'computering',
And I had to answer 'yes.'

He told me to get off my fanny
And tidy up the house.
And so I started cleaning up..
The smudges off my mouse.

I wiped and shined the topside
That really did the trick...
I was just admiring my work.

I didn't mean to 'click.'

But click, I did, and oops I found
A real absorbing site.
That I got SO way into it.
I was into it all night.

Nothing's changed except my mouse
It's very, very shiny.
I guess my house will stay a mess...
While I sit here on my hiney.

<::: One of our boaters called late this afternoon asking me to leave a parking pass for him as he wouldn't be arriving until after 'normal' closing time - I was still here when he arrived to tell me that he got the ONLY boat out of Avalon today - the harbor was closed due to the winds and the airport closed and helicopters grounded... he is a lawyer in Sacramento but HAD to be in court down here in the morning so took a little side-trip with the family to Catalina (he left everyone else there) - he said the boat was sold out and they were handing out 'bags' to each embarking customer - they crossed in 18' seas!! seasick Margie's back safe and sound and I don't think any other Cruzer's are scheduled for tours until next week. This is an unusual weather pattern and is due to settle down tomorrow - we've got 2 red flags flying and are operating under Small Craft Warnings for the last 2 days!

Yes, so sad about the hummer eggs.  Apparently the person who owns the cam tuned in just in time to see a large beak pluck an egg out.  :(

Eeeeeeek...that could be the end :8O: That bird will probably keep coming back now that it knows there is a nest there. :'( :'( :'(

Hummer Chicks- first 11 days - March 2009

Hummer Chicks - First 25 days - June 2008

Poor Mama Hummer has been poking around in the nest with her beak checking. I guess she will just go find Papa hummer again. This is so sad. Nature can be so cruel. :(

Sandie - so very excited for you - yes it's cooler by the ocean, but on warm days you will appreciate the coolness - just put on a jacket for the cooler days - looking forward to pics some day.

Harpo - Sorry you had to miss the game - did see fans in jackets, etc. - saw on the sports news that all the players, referees, coaches, etc. all wore the no. 42 today - to pay tribute to Jackie Robinson.

Peppermint - Appreciate the Cachuma info.

Penny - Duane's pic are awesome - what a photographer.

Love the Squish videos today - at least Momster Mom didn't harrass him today that we know of.

The retirement home where I work, Samarkand was without electricity from 5:30pm - 3am, of course the Health Center was on a generator - every resident has an emergency kit with flashlight - my boss and other were called in and now they know a few more things to do in preparation for these types of emergencies, esp. for those in independent living apartments.

SaraOh - Downloaded the Independent Condor article - thanks for posting it.

Jill - Didn't know the whole story of the dog statue and didn't know you played a part in dressing the dog - what a wonderful tribute to our peace officiers.

iggle - Love the beautiful wildflower pics and the stunning view of your and Vicki's hike - glad you had time to post them.

I am usually at the SB Zoo every Sat. - would love to be your tour guide if you want one or just join up with all of you - wish I could get you all in free, but that goes beyond my priviledges besides the zoo needs all the support it can get just any other organization. I do get 20% off on purchases in the gift stores, so I can help there. Since I do have a membership I could drive our van and and bring you into the parking lot for free - there is a $3.00 charge for parking - there is space outside the zoo to park if you come at opening before opening time and there isn't a soccer game going on across the street from the zoo - let me know what Sat. in May you pick - I do know there is something happening May 2nd - I think it is "Breakfast with the Animals" - will have to check for sure - there is a bigger charge, but there will be lots of talks given by the keepers and a whole schedule of talks - will let you all know.

Hooray - Cumbrians are coming to CA tomorrow!

Hi guys I am back I took a lot of boxes over to the new place today. I'm in big rouble I have waaaayyyy too much stuff but I will have to work it out somehow! I met one of my neighbors, he seems nice. He's been there three years and just got back from Costa Rica. Must have $$$$ I guess.

Penny that's almost as exciting as around here!!!! Did you see anything that the police took out of the vehicle? You wonder about this stuff some times. Why they get stopped or what they notice. Interesting. When are you going home? Great news did you call the TV they are always asking for news stuff that you see.

More moving tomorrow!!!

Jill....forgot to mentiion what a great opportunity to honor our Police. That's just wonderful. I wish there were more people like that around. Nice job.

Penny - you really saw alot of police action today - glad it was all under control when you came upon it though.

Joanie - 18' sea - oh my goodness - sure I would be seasick seasick as well in those conditions.

So happy you may be able to bring Hannah to the zoo - she will love it - the new playground is alot of fun too and of course, the train.

So very sad to hear about the little hummers - poor little mama.

You can get Buffalo patties to cook yourself at Lazy Acres in SB.

Lala, glad you posted that picture again. I was telling June about it on our trip to and from Catalina last week. Probably too late for her to see it tonight, but I hope she sees it tomorrow sometime.
