Thank you, Pat and Penny. I found the pictures with the directions and the link.

Penny, those Norfolk triplets are so cute, all lined up like that for a profile shot.

Here's an article about the new Condor exhibit at the Santa Barbara Zoo with some great pictures:

http://www.independent.com/news/2009/apr/13/condor-country/

Since LBtheScot can't come to Ojai this weekend, she and I have been tossing around the idea of a Cruzer picnic at the SB Zoo in May to see and celebrate the condor exhibit. What do y'all think?? I was thinking we could discuss this on Saturday at Lake Casitas over some good food and company!

Wow, Penny!  Great picture of the eagle dropping down.

Isn't that called a Mombrella?

Edit: Oops, Robin
I thought you said 'drooping' down :P

Sheila:The bald eagle tours at Cachuma are November-February when they come down from the north. They pretty much leave by around the end of February although there is one known nesting pair that lives there on a private ranch year round...never know when you MIGHT see one of them. They have regular wildlife boat tours the other months.

I think the picture of the drenched mom protecting her chicks from the rain is the mombrella! The one before that . . . I don't know what you would call that -- how about "Spectacular!"?

Thanks Penny for posting Duane's slide show.

Must be great if you are a photographer to have that pair to practice and hone your skills on. Some of the photographers there are really getting good.

LaLa-Annette wasn't the original owner of the home. But the story as she knows it was that when a fire started in the home their dog woke up the owners, thereby saving them. So they had a statue made of the dog. Annette moved to a retirement place in the bay area (may have been near Marin, I can't remember) to be near some of her kids & grandkids. Annette always dressed the dog up for holidays, births of her grandkids, superbowl, etc. She has allowed me to dress up the statue for Peace Officers Memorial Day on May 15th since 2001 & the new owners have continued to let me do that. For 3 years in a row I sat out by the statue all day to serve officers that came by fudge, coffee or water. We love our law enforcement officers! :D
