 I got on the Saanich cam long enough to get a glimpse of something big and white being torn at, then the cam went dead and I got a message that it had been disconnected.  Too graphic viewing for minors or what??? rofl

Hey Ian - got a question for you. I usually see several redtails as I am going back and forth to work but in the high winds of the last two days, none.  That started me wondering - where do perching birds go when it's like that?  A treetop or telephone pole doesn't seem like a stable place to hang out even if your talons are super strong so where do they go?  Inquiring minds want to know....

If you get the disconnection just reload the web page again - that usually clears it up. I'm not sure on that - maybe a question for Raptorman's forum or maybe Dr. Sharpe would know :D

Thanks Ian, I'll ask raptorman - I just always try you first since you're handy and you seem to know a lot! :D
I did discover that reloading the page did the trick on the cam. :ok:

Thank you KareninSoCali for going to the The Flower Fields in Carlsbad and sharing your pictures. We finally had the motivation and timing to get there and what a day. Yesterday was just a beautiful day, cool, windy, and clear with puffy clouds. We were overwhelmed with the expansive beauty of the fields. We walked the entire circumference of the 50 acres of flowers and up and down the rows. After 3 hours we still didn't want to leave. The beauty fills the soul.

We finished the day driving along the coast and having dinner in the old section of Carlsbad.

I got a bit carried away taking pictures - over 100 - but pared it down to just a few favorites. Hope you enjoy.

Katie, your slideshow was a real treat since only the very early spring flowers such as crocuses are in bloom here.

Thanks Katie those flowers are so gorgeous.:ok:

Do they just keep blooming all summer? It looks much the same as when Karen was there. :)^

Katie - I'm glad you got to have the whole experience in Carlsbad. After seeing Karen's pictures I tried to go there with my dad when I was down there Easter weekend. It was so mobbed we didn't even go inside! I'll have to look at your slideshow from home - even the view of the fields from the adjoining parking lot was spectacular!
