From D.C.'s panda updates:

One day late last week, Tai Shan managed to catch a white-throated sparrow. Once in his grasp, he held it tightly to his chest and under his arms, rolling it around on his body and then his head. We have seen our pandas scent-anoint using rotten wood, but this time it was the poor bird. At one point he put it in his mouth and pulled out a few wing feathers before the bird managed to get away. We never saw the sparrow again, so it might have survived, hopefully a bit more wary from its ordeal in the panda yard.

Bad panda! At least he didn't kill it. Hopefully . . .
How did he catch a bird???

Robin :D You sure see a LOT more on TV than you do in the studio. But you can see us quite a lot!! We are sitting right in front of the Price is Right logo in the center aisle in the very middle in the very last row. Wendy has on a red shirt with It's My Birthday on it and I sit next to her with a blue shirt on. The other side of Wendy is a lady we were in the movie with. The girl to the other side of me is a new mom and she has the "biggest" nursing apparatus you have seen for such a tiny person. There were Three people there with birthdays and in the front rows were a lot of sign language students. Wendy had a great time with them. She signed to them a lot.

Poor little babies. This has been a trememdously heartbreaking nest. Nature is just tooooo cruel.

Oh boy F5 works..... :><: Thank you so much

Ok got to get up and try to move around....Yikes this ankle is just awful. Maybe I'll use my walker....I hate to have to resort to that but oh well.

Robin, Looking through the pictures there was an adult with them. Temps are pretty cold out there right now. They are actually expecting a snow storm today through tomorrow in that area I believe.

Sad News from FSV

Hello Everyone---

I am so sorry to have to report that all three chicks have perished. Apparently, one of the adult birds must have been injured or died and the other adult finally gave up last night during cold and rainy weather--unable to feed the chicks and keep them warm too. This morning the three chicks have obviously passed away due to exposure. A single adult bird visited the nest only momentarily this morning early, not long enough to be caught and recorded by the system, but has not returned. I wish I could tell you more for sure about what happened but that is all we can surmise.

Thanks for being such a great group of loyal fans. We can only pray the remaining adult will mate again and return next season. Warmest regards to all from the Fort St. Vrain Electric Generating station. (on page 10)

Click pic for Video by NBG Eagle (3:32)

Banding of these eaglets is scheduled to take place on Monday, April 20th at 10:00 AM, weather permitting.

"Since the cam is not within their control, zooming in or out to show the activity will not be possible but the event will be in the WVEC eagle chat room as a "Special Event"

Penny, do you know where this information is posted? They seem awful small to band yet, they are only 3-4 weeks old
