Will start the new day with my pictures (and a special video) from the Cumbrian's Welcome parties. The smiles say it all. It was another wonderful Cruzer get together. Pat & Roy made and passed out some awesome posters of our E-gal, Cruz to everyone. It's in the car & I'm in my pj's or I'd get it to post a picture of it. It'll have to wait until tomorrow.

Anyways....enjoy the pictures and video...

What amazing photos Jann. Thanks for posting them so quickly. Looks like an awsome time was had by all. I've been awake since 2am. Thought I'd come here and check out all the great stuff. You'd think i'd be so exhausted I'd be sacked out but nooooo.
Maybe I'm just hurting too much.
I think I'd rather have gone to the picnic than move at this point.
I'll have pics for you later.
TV is boring me to death.
I'll try to go back to sleep.....maybe.
Everyone's face looked like toooo much happiness!
I did not know it was your anniversary Jann and Dave...congratulations. Many m ore happy years.

I think volume means drive C, or maybe you have two - C and D.

Which one were you working on?

=ElaineRuth Oh, man, am I in trouble!!! I've been throwing up because of what I stupidly did! Never try to work when you are too tired! I was moving all my photos from my 6 flash drives into a file called California 2009. In that folder I had folders named for the day of the photos inside; 2009-04-04 thru 2009-04-13. I had them all in and had two folders (California 2009) minimized. I thought one was a Flash drive and deleted everything in it. Then I realized I just had 2 California 2009 opened and lost everything. Well, since I had not emptied the TRASH Bucket, I wasn't worried. I went there and restored everything in the TRASH. But it didn't seem to be very much there. When I went back to California 2009 I found I was missing the folders for the dates 2009-04-04 thru 2009-04-09!!!!! That's right ----- partys, whale watching and ALL of Catalina photos!!! At that time I recalled getting a message earlier that when I had removed a flash drive, I had not done it the 'SAFE' way and may have not have data saved. BUT -------- it was all there before I deleted the stuff in California 2009! So I have been doing a SEARCH for an hour now with nothing showing up. I remembered once before when I did the same thing with a flash drive and when I did a search, I found it had been saved twice but I cannot remember where it was.
I know I'm blathering but I am so sick and upset!
Anyone out there have any hope for me???

My Computer tells me I have C:\ drive and a D:\Recovery . When I opened the D: it gives this message:

"Recovery Partition
Warning!
This area of your hard disk (or partition) contains files used for your system recovery.

Do not delete or alter these files.

Any change to this partition could prevent any recovery later."

So it seems a volume may refer to a hard drive which is partioned. If that is the case, I may have to install this iUndelete program to a little flash drive!!! I have to find out if it will fit on one!! And the way things are going for me, I would probably lose it!!

Bringing this forward for Elaine Ruth. I know there is a "Go back" to previous day or week on the computer. Don't know how to get there. She posted very late last night. Jann or anyone with the expertise - Can you help her!

Eaglepedia Revisited

April 11, 2007

At about 3 weeks of age, the eagles are gawky and pot bellied with tufts of down sticking upon their little heads (my avatar)! They are now mostly covered with their 2nd coat of down, kind of dark gray and wooley and they waddle about, laying around, tryng to stand up from time to time. Their first movement in the nest and standing have to do with poop shots. They will back to the rim of the nest and do a shot with remarkable force quite a distance out of the nest. Standing to "shoot" is common long before the eaglets can stand to walk. You can tell if an eagle nest is in use in a breeding season - check out the "whitewash" around the bottom of the tree!

"The Bald Eagle"

AND

March 8, 2008

In time all birds must leave the nest - provided they have survived the many dangers of home life. There is a great deal of variation in how independent the young are once they hatch from the egg. Among most perching birds, seabirds and birds of prey, the chicks hatch after fairly short periods of incubation and need to be fed for a long time.

In other species, such as geese, swans, ducks and waders, the young develop for a long time within the egg and are fully feathered and ready to run about and feed by themselves almost as soon as they leave the egg. Some can even fly.
